Surely the issue is who is actually in the game and what do they contribute? Unfortunately Zimbabwe has many potential contributors who choose instead to be bystanders.

These ideas will remain theories because we are talking about thoughts without the means of implementation. Zanu steals national wealth ZIDERA provides MDC with money both waste these resources on personal gains for party chefs.

The West is to blame in that the means of countering the Zanu hegemony is a total failure that they continue to push as 'the only game in town'. Who doesnt know that it was Bush policy seeking to create an ORANGE revolution in Zimbabwe? Its all on written record.

WHEREBY economic pressures was to make the people revolt and place their proxy MDC into power. MDC failed to mobilize people properly or ally with civil society choosing rhetoric and Wabenzis instead. Some say falsely WE DONT WANT CIVIL WAR ...this is a statement of personal cowardice when uttered by many and ignorance of such complex matters at the stage of implementation when uttered by others. Civil war already exists.

Zanu has been waging a low intensity civil war for years, those hundreds killed in June were murdered by 'soldiers' and paramilitaries not civilians there has been NOTHING peaceful about the MDC quest for power....it has killed and displaced thousands via means other than bullets it was premised upon national destruction and making the peoople suffer .....so they overthrew Zanu it backfired because it was poorly organized and people in their millions chose flight out of the country to redress the economic pressure instead of fight...There GNU isnt failing it has failed...It was justified by MDC as 1) to save lives, when there so called 'non-violent' regime change was based upon revolt due to suffering...2) it was to change things from within Zanu currently is dismantling MDC and MDC can only counter beyond crying for Zuma or singing praise for Mugabe or rhetoric that 'change is inevitable'.

Experience not withstanding who doesnt know that Zanu is propped up by military force and only an organised counter force 'civil action' or other will bring them to the table in any sincere way?.

ALL Western nations and Eastern nations are based upon important nation saving conflicts civil strife or military action no one accuses the people that opposed Hitler of being worse than the tyranny they ended. No one states those that defeated POL POT or who overthrew the dictator of Romania of being fake merely because they chose to bring change through confronting the tyrants. Only in Africa do we extend the lives of our many tyrants with fake passivity because we ignore the contributions of those who fought for causes with genuine ideals and forget that foreign powers impose their proxies to divert our struggles towards their interests.

The point at issue is many unsung freedom fighters were killed for an ideal stolen by Zanu thieves, many Zimbabweans have been murdered and have suffered following an proxy MDC freedom is coming with no plans bandwagon that is just using them to fulfil outside foreign agendas. The wholle rotten mess needs to be re-evaluated so the country is freed and governed by those wishing to serve Zimbabwe not by fake liberators or fake democrats.

What did you say when the Queen of England made Mugabe an honorary knight in 1994?What did you say when the World Bank declared Zimbabwe as an “economic success story” in 1994?

Did you reject the BILLIONS in World Bank loans and Western aid that were pouring into Zimbabwe in the early 1990s?Now suddenly the West is to blame for Zimbabwe’s problems?

You are acting like a toddler, who must be given a candy after cleaning up his room. But when he messes up his room and the candy is withdrawn, he throws a temper tantrum. Asked why his room is a mess, he replies, “Because I got no candy.”
“Toddler” because his focus is on the candy. He has not grown up and developed sufficient intelligence, mental capacity or maturity to focus on the STATE of his room.

Please focus on the STATE of Zimbabwe, not whether or not you must have candy from the East, West or Jupiter. If you don’t see the appalling state the country is in and you must instead rail against the West for not giving you a candy, then I am afraid, you are part of the problem.

MDC applauds President Zuma’s statement!!!

The MDC applauds today’s statement by the SADC chairman and South African President Jacob Zuma which made it clear that all parties forming the inclusive government should be committed to fulfilling the letter and spirit of the Global Political Agreement.

The statement by the SADC chairman is refreshing. President Zuma has made an unequivocal statement that African nations should commit themselves to human rights, good governance and democracy if our continent is to extricate itself from the bad-boy image.

We in the MDC have always been consistent in our commitment to fulfilling the GPA, to which we all appended our signatures. Our commitment as a tripartite government to what we have agreed between ourselves will have a domino effect that will unlock the much needed foreign aid and investment that are necessary to kick-start our economy. This is what all progressive forces have been saying; that we must not renege on agreed positions and that we should abide by the dictates and the full meaning of our signature on the GPA. We must urgently resolve the outstanding issues such as the issue of provincial governors, permanent secretaries, ambassadors, the issue of Attorney General Johannes Tomana, central bank governor Gideon Gono and the swearing in of deputy minister designate, Hon Roy Bennett.

We in the MDC agree with President Zuma that our unbridled commitment to good governance and democratic reforms will show the world that we are ready to move forward and that implementation of the GPA is not a mirage but a political reality that will give our nation a chance to start afresh so that we give hope and confidence to our people, to Africa and the broader international community. We agree with President Zuma that implementing the GPA is the panacea to the rest of the attendant problems dogging the inclusive government

The MDC is a party of excellence. We believe in the truth; in forthright statements that make it imperative for our country to begin anew; to chart a new way driven by basic democratic tenets of respect for human rights, good governance and simply abiding by the dictates of documents and agreements we have signed with neither pressure nor coercion. We must all simply abide by the GPA and agree to resolve the outstanding issues so that the inclusive government can begin to bring full confidence, hope and prosperity to the people of Zimbabwe.

We hope that SADC and the AU will take it upon themselves to make sure that all the parties fully implement the GPA so that “African solutions to African problems” is not simply a slogan, but a value that we all hold and cherish. We also hope that the SADC review of the GPA in the next few weeks will reflect and correct some of the problems dogging the full implementation of the political agreement.

Dear Prime Minister

On the eve of the past two presidential elections, the military and security generals publicly vowed never to salute you even if you won the poll. Yet on Tuesday, in a packed stadium to mark Defence Forces Day, you finally got the salute from these generals. Of course you would have eventually been saluted by either them or their successors. Anyone could have predicted that soon or later there was no other way to go for them besides doing what any sane military leader in a democratic state is expected to do which is to salute the democratically elected Prime Minister or President of the country. We were not at all surprised when finally the generals got to do what is right in the eyes of God, the people of Zimbabwe, and the law. And by saluting you they acknowledged that military and security institutions should be immune from party politics. These institutions belong to the state that is the people of Zimbabwe and not ZanuPF nor the MDC.

But you know what really surprised us? The conditions under which you are said to have finally achieved that. Sir, if what is said by the private and international media is anything to go by then we the Zimbabwean people need divine intervention. How can you let a mere salute blind you that much? Even if they were never going to salute you, you were still going to remain the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe. A salute says more about the person saluting than the person being saluted. Saluting means one knows and respects the laws of the country, its hierarchies, and one’s place in a given hierarchy. But of course in Zimbabwe (or Africa in general) we have massively exaggerated personal egos leading to abuse of office and power.

As we see it, the salute is your prize for turning a blind eye to the generals’ professional conduct, or lack of it. If that be case then the change you promised remains just a dream.

If the salute means that the plans to reform the defence and police forces may be reversed then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means that the proposed overhaul by a board with independent and qualified members to be appointed to help bring professionalism and sanity to our forces is abandoned then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means none of the generals are held accountable for the abuse of power that saw many innocent Zimbabweans arrested, tortured, maimed, and killed then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means plans to ensure the forces serve the interests of the nation rather than those of political parties are discarded then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means justice for victims of last year's election-related violence will never be realised then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means that names of senior police and army officials responsible for the death of more than 200 MDC supporters are never revealed then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means past crimes by police and army officials are ignored and the culprits left free to continue abuse of office then we say NO to the salute. If the salute means that the Government turns a blind eye to Gono’s and Thomana’s sins present and past are forgiven and they remain in office then we say NO to the salute.

Sir, what you or your advisors might be failing to see is the fact that unless there is a complete overhaul of the country’s military and security leadership innocent people will continue to be abused and suffer. The starting point of restring law and order in Zimbabwe is by changing the heads at the military, security, and justice establishments. In the same way, if the Reserve Bank Governor’s and the Attorney General’s offices continue to be occupied by elements deeply tied to ZanuPF then real change is still a long way off. For that reason we feel you should not allow a mere salute ruin your vision. You can manage without the salute. Real change is what Zimbabwe need. And the best way to go about achieving that is not through tolerating misguided elements at the helm of the countries military, security, justice, and financial institutions. Please don’t let the salute fool you. These guys are dangerous and they need to be stopped before the country can start moving in the right direction. Please don’t become part of the rotten and corrupt leadership that has ruined the once beautiful Republic of Zimbabwe.

US embassy accident story not convincing!!!

THE US embassy in Harare yesterday issued a statement entitled, "Clarification of Accident Vehicle Ownership". We published it in full.

A close look at the statement leaves more questions than answers.

Many people were looking for a statement that said who exactly owned the accident truck that killed Mrs Susan Tsvangirai, the Prime Minister's wife.

It is certainly not enough, or convincing to say: "It (the truck) was purchased with USAID funds by a contractor and belonged to the contractor" without actually saying who that contractor was. I am sure US embassy officials would know who that contractor is (was) since it was purchased using USAID funds.

Interestingly, the truck's number plate, 81 TCE-128, belongs to the US embassy.

Independent legislator Jonathan Moyo was quoted as saying: “How can an American-registered car, purchased with American money, driven by a driver hired from Britain and paid with American money; be owned by a British agency funded by British money and formed from the ashes of a British colonial institution?”

The connection between USAID and United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DfID) in this case is troubling; given that the shooting of Air Marshall Perence Shiri a few months ago involved a USAID employee. This is a strange coincidence.

The US embassy says: "The contractor was delivering essential HIV and AIDS drugs and medical supplies to health clinics under an effort co-financed by USAID and the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DfID)." Surely if it was co-financed by these two organisations, they should be able to give us more details.

Does the U.S. embassy or DfID care to tell us who the contractor was? Was it DfID? If not, who was it? And why did the UK government quickly issue a statement saying the driver was not "sleeping at the wheel" at the time of the accident? How could they know that a few hours after an accident that occured thousands of miles away, in a remote location in Zimbabwe? How come they were privy to this information when the investigating authorities in Zimbabwe were still investigating the cause of the crash?

The US embassy also says: "The driver of the truck, a Zimbabwean national, was an employee of the contractor, not a USAID employee." The embassy seems to have some insider information that we do not know. Again, who is the contractor?

I was also troubled to hear the UK's DfID declare the accident genuine, just hours after the accident. This is the first time that the UK has commented on a tragic Zimbabwean situation and not connected "President Mugabe's regime" to it. How do they know this, or should I say "How did they know this was a 'genuine' accident?" The UK Government's subsequent lack of interest in that incident is also puzzling, to say the least.

The US embassy in Harare's statement is very cleverly presented and packaged. It starts with condolencies to Prime Minister Tsvangirai's family for the death of his wife Susan. It then ends with the U.S. government's food aid pledge.

The statement read: "The U.S. government remains committed to helping the people of Zimbabwe as it has done for decades. The United States provided over $260 million for emergency programs since October 2007, providing food, health care, safe water, and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment."

This is very clever packaging. The "clarification of the accident vehicle story" is sandwiched between a condolence statement and a story about the U.S.'s aid program to Zimbabwe -- two importanst stories deserving their own titling.

This clever 'public diplomacy' diverts attention from the main story, as suggested by the title of the statement. Clever indeed, but many of us think this 'explanation' is very skeletal and the US embassy can, and should, give a more detailed explanation. They could start by naming the 'contractor'.

This statement leaves more questions than answers.

Zim polls: ‘Here is the proof that we won’

JOHANNESBURG - The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has provided The Citizen with statistical evidence to back up its claim of being the outright winner in the Zimbabwean presidential election.

The data indicate that a run-off election will not be necessary, as MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai obtained the prerequisite margin to be declared a “hands-down” victor.

The results put Tsvangirai in pole position with 51.7%, while President Robert Mugabe lags behind with 43.3%.

Here is the MDC versus Zanu-PF presidential race vote allocation breakdown in the country’s 10 “provinces”:

* Tsvangirai (49 660) vs Mugabe (11 146) in Bulawayo.

* Tsvangirai (227 387) vs Mugabe (60 523) in Harare.

* Tsvangirai (212 553) vs Mugabe (131 856) in Manicaland.

* Tsvangirai (78 650) vs Mugabe (150 889) in Mashonaland Central.

* Tsvangirai (130 753) vs Mugabe (156 746) in Mashonaland East.

* Tsvangirai (126 832) vs Mugabe (134 329) in Mashonaland West.

* Tsvangirai (164 345) vs Mugabe (152 327) in Masvingo.

* Tsvangirai (68 656) vs Mugabe (39 143) in Matebeleland North.

* Tsvangirai (34 437) vs Mugabe (44 995) in Matebeleland South.

* Tsvangirai (155 122) vs Mugabe (162 338) in Midlands.

In total Tsvangirai and Mugabe amassed 1 248 395 and 1 044 292 votes respectively.

The total number of votes, including those of other candidates, is said to be 2 413 830.

“The Harare and Bulawayo figures were taken from the agreed and declared ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) figures. The agents have already signed for the two sets of the results,” the MDC revealed.

The party added: “All other figures were secured from our polling agents from different stations across the country.”

DEBATE ARISING FROM THE ARTICLE: EDDIE CROSS PLEASE EXPLAIN THE ACCIDENT FURTHER!"

I AM still puzzled and perplexed by Eddie Cross's narration of the events of the crash that killed Mrs Susan Tsvangirai and left the Prime Minister badly hurt.

Cross made the headlines in the last few months over his "crash and burn" article; but that is not the gist of this piece.

He told the New York Times newspaper a day after the crash that it had not been an accident, and said the MDC-T party will not accept a police report. Besides being preposterous, Cross sounded like he had some insider information about the accident. I will not ask questions as to why the New York Times newspaper had an interview with Cross, and not the party spokesman, Nelson Chamisa. This is a matter between Cross and that newspaper.

However, I am yet to hear of someone who gets to the scene of the accident from 10 kilometres away, before the police, and climbs the top of the accident vehicle to take pictures, before attempting to rescue the victims. This is what Mr Deon Theron, the Deputy President of the Commercial Farmers' Union, did on that fateful day.

He examined the vehicle; but did not "rescue" the victims -- the high profile victims. It is worrisome that it was more important for Mr Theron to take footage, rather than try and rescue the victims.

We know that Mrs Tsvangirai was badly hurt at that juncture, and so was the Prime Minister. Why did Mr Theron not attend to them? Surely that would have been the reason why he rushed to the site? Or was it? If not, does this say something about the judgment of Mr Theron, or his attitude to "accident victims"?

It is also shocking to discover that Cross had more specific details about the "burst front tyre", the "loose under-carriage as a result of the accident", and other accident details; but no information on the state of the victims, Mr and Mrs Tsvangirai, when he spoke to the New York Times. Anyone who has had an opportunity to visit an accident site immediately after the accident would tell you that the state of the vehicle is never on their mind -- the condition of the victim(s) is. But not Mr Theron who preferred to climb the overturned vehicle and take pictures.

Was Mr Theron not at least concerned that an overturned vehicle could burst into flames and kill him, or the victims? I am sure Mr Theron would have seen the Prime Minister or his wife lying down somewhere, or would have at least known that the inhabitants of the car were the Tsvangirai's as he had previously communicated with whoever informed him about the accident (see below). Why then was he less concerned about the welfare of the Prime Minister and his wife, and more concerned about "the scene of the accident"?

Mr Theron's version of the accident, which is disputed by other eyewitnesses, could not have been accurate. Dennis Murira, director of public affairs in the prime minister's office was told a different version of events. The truck driver told the police that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, said Murira. So why would Mr Cross deny a police report?

Mr Theron was 10 kilomteres away when the accident happened? The eyewitnesses, surely would have had a more accurate version as they were there when the crash occured. Why did Mr Cross then rely on Mr Theron's version when he was not an eyewitness? How long did it take Mr Theron to get to the scene after the accident?

The New York Times report says Mr Hendrick O'Neill, an MDC-T member "from the area where the crash occured" was suspicious of the "circumstances around the accident". Mr O'Neill is the one who, apparently, called Mr Theron "who lives near the scene" and told him about the accident. So both men are from the same area - where the accident happened? Why then did Mr O'Neill ring Mr Theron when he was from the same area? How did Mr O'Neill know about the accident? Was he an eyewitness? How did he know about it before Mr Theron "who lives near the scene"? How many kilomteres from the scene does Mr O'Neill live, as compared to Mr Theron? Why was it important to call Mr Theron and not the police, or for him to get to the accident scene promptly?

"I was looking for someone to get to the site because I was very suspicious about the circumstances around the accident," the New York Time quotes Mr O'Neill telling Mr Cross. What were those "circumstances" at this stage - soon after the crash? How long was it after the accident did Mr O'Neill know about it or "the circumstances"? He would have had to be on the scene to be "suspicious about the circumstances around the accident" or somebody else would have told him on the phone. If somebody did, who was it?

"So he contacted Deon Theron, the vice president of the Commercial Farmers Union (CFU), who lives near the scene. 'Morgan has been a target for some time'," the New York Times quotes Mr Cross.

Why would he (Mr O'Neill) contact Mr Theron when he also lives near the scene? He could have gone there himself and "collected the evidence". Did it need a farmer - a CFU Vice President? What exactly was Mr Theron required to do in these circumstances, that Mr O'Neill could not do? Afterall he was the first one to know about the accident, and he lived "in that area" anyway. In any case, one would have thought the prime concern was to rescue Mr Tsvangirai (and his wife) as he "has been a target for some time".

Surely, there was a lapse of time, from the time when Mr O'Neill saw, or heard about, the accident to the time he communicated with Mr Theron. How long was that time? How long did it take Mr Theron to get to the scene "10 kilometres" away? Did Mr O'Neill also ring the police? If not, why not? Did Mr O'Neill eventually attend the scene as he was "suspicious about the circumstances around the accident"? If not, why not?

We hope someone will care to answer these questions, among other questions already in the public domain. This is important so that we avoid another "crash and burn".

It might well have been the hand of God, because in sacrificing Susan's life, through her blood and our salted tears, he has brought the entire country together, but then again, it may not have been.

Wed, 25 Mar 2009 13:07:43 • sorry Dudes, but the Number 1 rule in FIRST AID if you see anyone in a car accident, provided there is no likelihood of fire, is to leave the victims be until the PARAMEDICS arrive on the scene.
Call the ambulance, call the police, call MARS, but dont try and do that which they have been trained to do.

Just make very sure that approaching traffic is not going to cause anymore disasters. Immediately put barriers up to slow and stop the traffic.

Keep talking to the victims and cover them, and try to keep them warm. Make sure there are no objects in their mouth and that they can breathe. they will be going into shock and you need to keep them warm. do not give them anything to drink or eat. Anaesthetics require an empty gut remember which is why we fast before surgery.

You see, if someone has a broken back, or broken legs, you can do more damage than good by dragging them out, dislodging fragile arteries which could in turn be pierced by broken bones and in the case of a broken back, destroy the nervous system in your efforts to help causing paralysis for the rest of their life. It may be your fault they are paralysed, not being involved in an accident.

If someone has a scalp injury and you pull them away, their brain could fall out. whereas if you leave them until the Paramedics arrive, they can wrap everything into place first before moving the patient. Keep talking and keep them warm.

If someone is knifed, leave the knife or pierced by a sharp object, leave it in there until they get to hospital. it might be holding a severed vein in place which could be clamped by a surgeon but if you remove it that person could bleed to death.

If you have not been trained in this, then its time you were. Every adult should do the course during their employment in this country. Its usally free in your place of employment. I did it and when asked why i explained, we have many road accidents in Zimbabwe and i have always felt at a loss what to do. Be proactive and get involved in a first aid course.

I also think every school child should undergo a FIRST AID COURSE in the school's curriculum. It should be a legal requirement if you are a citizen of Zimbabwe.

Exit scene one enter scene two. The whole reaction of the CFU members involved in this whole saga is questionable. They try to craft a product which they try to get customers who can buy it. All their interview is with the American news paper. Indeed they have managed to get a few customers in the likes of MUROZVI MUTUNGA who happens to have been Ant Mugabe from the days of the war for Independence. Can this person tell us the people who died due to different views with Mugabe. It will be of benefit to give examples with some bit of evidence.

Scene three. Murozvi is it not that the American Embassy and the UK confirmed that the truck was theirs. Even their governments confirmed and indeed agreed that its their truck. This truck had and it still has the American Embassy number plates plus a USAID logo. So what exactly are you saying? Is it because you want us to know that you don't like President Mugabe? Or is it just because you don't care and never value an African life.? Hence filming a desperate life instead of saving it? You can never twist our minds.

How did you know this driver was not supposed to have been driving the truck? All we know is that the truck belongs to the USA & UK (USAID & DifD). This is crystal clear unless if you are implying that we are also so stupid like you to an extant that we fail to see reason in its logical sense. I am sure if anybody in the likes of the President wanted to kill the PM then he could have been killed a long way back during the MDC's formative stages.

Was this funeral attended by all high profile figures in Zimbabwe? Chihuri, Shiri, bla blah . Moreover its not a must that people have to attend funerals. What if Chiwenga's mother was gasping for air? He should have gone to the funeral so as to please MUROZVI this is silly.If Shiri was found filming the accident then its a different story. However, you forgot to ask some questions for example (a) why is it that all people who have different views to Mugabe die by road accident? (b) Why is it that that truck was driven by a driver who was not supposed to be driving it that day. (c) Have you thought about the ownership of that car as well, we do not know the owner up to this day. (d) Although people are not forced to attend funerals, but why did Chihuri, Chiwenga and Shiri not attend the funeral? It boggles the mind and leaves more questions than answers to the whole incident. while I do not supprt what the farmer did I feel your analysis in too shallow. While I applaud you for being analytical, I feel you were partisan in your analysis which has persuaded me to conclude that you are writing in support of Zanu. What was Eddie Cross doing in New York anyway? Was he there to persuade the Obama adminstation to extend the sanctions period. This Eddie Cross is no friend of Zimbabwe since he is on record as saying that he hoped the Zim economy would crash and burn just as his failed companies did and was declared bankrupt. This failed bankrupt has no contribution to make at all to the turnaround of Zimbabwe.

Eddie Cross please explain the accident further?

I AM still puzzled and perplexed by Eddie Cross's narration of the events of the crash that killed Mrs Susan Tsvangirai and left the Prime Minister badly hurt.

Cross made the headlines in the last few months over his "crash and burn" article; but that is not the gist of this piece.

He told the New York Times newspaper a day after the crash that it had not been an accident, and said the MDC-T party will not accept a police report. Besides being preposterous, Cross sounded like he had some insider information about the accident. I will not ask questions as to why the New York Times newspaper had an interview with Cross, and not the party spokesman, Nelson Chamisa. This is a matter between Cross and that newspaper.

However, I am yet to hear of someone who gets to the scene of the accident from 10 kilometres away, before the police, and climbs the top of the accident vehicle to take pictures, before attempting to rescue the victims. This is what Mr Deon Theron, the Deputy President of the Commercial Farmers' Union, did on that fateful day.

He examined the vehicle; but did not "rescue" the victims -- the high profile victims. It is worrisome that it was more important for Mr Theron to take footage, rather than try and rescue the victims.

We know that Mrs Tsvangirai was badly hurt at that juncture, and so was the Prime Minister. Why did Mr Theron not attend to them? Surely that would have been the reason why he rushed to the site? Or was it? If not, does this say something about the judgment of Mr Theron, or his attitude to "accident victims"?

It is also shocking to discover that Cross had more specific details about the "burst front tyre", the "loose under-carriage as a result of the accident", and other accident details; but no information on the state of the victims, Mr and Mrs Tsvangirai, when he spoke to the New York Times. Anyone who has had an opportunity to visit an accident site immediately after the accident would tell you that the state of the vehicle is never on their mind -- the condition of the victim(s) is. But not Mr Theron who preferred to climb the overturned vehicle and take pictures.

Was Mr Theron not at least concerned that an overturned vehicle could burst into flames and kill him, or the victims? I am sure Mr Theron would have seen the Prime Minister or his wife lying down somewhere, or would have at least known that the inhabitants of the car were the Tsvangirai's as he had previously communicated with whoever informed him about the accident (see below). Why then was he less concerned about the welfare of the Prime Minister and his wife, and more concerned about "the scene of the accident"?

Mr Theron's version of the accident, which is disputed by other eyewitnesses, could not have been accurate. Dennis Murira, director of public affairs in the prime minister’s office was told a different version of events. The truck driver told the police that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, said Murira. So why would Mr Cross deny a police report?

Mr Theron was 10 kilometres away when the accident happened? The eyewitnesses, surely would have had a more accurate version as they were there when the crash occured. Why did Mr Cross then rely on Mr Theron's version when he was not an eyewitness? How long did it take Mr Theron to get to the scene after the accident?

The New York Times report says Mr Hendrick O'Neill, an MDC-T member "from the area where the crash occured" was suspicious of the "circumstances around the accident". Mr O'Neill is the one who, apparently, called Mr Theron "who lives near the scene" and told him about the accident. So both men are from the same area - where the accident happened? Why then did Mr O'Neill ring Mr Theron when he was from the same area? How did Mr O'Neill know about the accident? Was he an eyewitness? How did he know about it before Mr Theron "who lives near the scene"? How many kilomteres from the scene does Mr O'Neill live, as compared to Mr Theron? Why was it important to call Mr Theron and not the police, or for him to get to the accident scene promptly?

“I was looking for someone to get to the site because I was very suspicious about the circumstances around the accident,” the New York Time quotes Mr O’Neill telling Mr Cross. What were those "circumstances" at this stage - soon after the crash? How long was it after the accident did Mr O'Neill know about it or "the circumstances"? He would have had to be on the scene to be "suspicious about the circumstances around the accident" or somebody else would have told him on the phone. If somebody did, who was it?

"So he contacted Deon Theron, the vice president of the Commercial Farmers Union (CFU), who lives near the scene. 'Morgan has been a target for some time'," the New York Times quotes Mr Cross.

Why would he (Mr O'Neill) contact Mr Theron when he also lives near the scene? He could have gone there himself and "collected the evidence". Did it need a farmer - a CFU Vice President? What exactly was Mr Theron required to do in these circumstances, that Mr O'Neill could not do? Afterall he was the first one to know about the accident, and he lived "in that area" anyway. In any case, one would have thought the prime concern was to rescue Mr Tsvangirai (and his wife) as he "has been a target for some time".

On 19th March 2009, the Zimbabwe Independent published an article by Dumisani Muleya entitled “Zimbabwe: Investigators to Probe Susan Tsvangirai’s Death” in which he indicated that cabinet had agreed to allow an independent international investigation in the death of the Prime Minister’s wife.

Road accidents involving MDC leaders, just too convenient to be coincidental!!!

The late but popular blind singer Paul Matavire, once said in one of his songs, “Munyika muno mune munemapere akasimira nheve dzehwayi, kurasisa anoda kuparadzwa,” (This world is full of hyenas in sheep skins to mislead victims)

MDC leadership must be careful here and stop pretending that Zanu PF functionaries are friends. Zanu PF was a venomous snake yesterday and shall remain so today and tomorrow. If a python changes colour to suit the environment it is operating in, does it cease to be a snake? Does it ever abandon its poisonous killing missions? This is a fact and the better if this sinks into the minds and hearts of MDC leaders. Now the python is biting from within, at very close ranges and well camouflaged.

Let us not pretend that we are safe when we are not.

Can anyone help us to try and make sense of the events surrounding the chronic road accidents involving MDC leaders?

On the date of the Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai’s inauguration, guess what happened?

A heavy truck made a spectacular U-turn in-front of the speeding car of our Vice President Thokozani Khupe, causing a bad accident in the process. Fortunately Khupe was not in the car, but one of her relatives died. Khupe’s mother who was also in the vehicle was seriously injured and is fighting for her life in a Pretoria hospital in South Africa.

Nothing was said publicly about it by the national leadership. The incident never received prominence in the media. I am sure some people are mistaking the noble principle of compromising as surrendering. These ministerial luxuries should not hoodwink MDC leaders into exposing their necks too much to the razor-sharp political guillotine of the junta. Each time the guillotine blade falls down it takes or misses lives of our national leaders. This is it!

As some of us who are autonomous minded were still grappling with Khupe’s accident, another traffic tragedy reached home. Tsvangirai was involved in an accident which claimed the life of his wife, Susan Tsvangirai. We hear it was a genuine accident. Mugabe described the accident as the hand of God. Minister of defence Emmerson Mnangangwa, accused the Americans of trying to kill Tsvangirai. Mnangagwa went on to predict that the Americans would come after Tsvangirai again.

It however surfaced last weekend that the ‘blood truck’ in question belongs to Savious, a Zanu PF minister and a renowned Kaguvi building subversive operative.

As if this is not enough evidence, two MDC ministers, Sipepa Nkomo and Gordon Ndlovu narrowly escaped death in Harare this week as they were on their way to the airport.

The two ministers had just attended the interment of the late former army chief Vitalis Zvinavashe at the Heroes’ Acre.

A speeding truck from ‘Kaguvi building’ smashed into their stationary Merdeces Benz at a robot. Doesn’t this tell us something? Are these still coincidences? There must be something rotten about the security system of MDC leaders.

Who does not know Zanu PF’s trend when it comes to eliminating those they regard as obstacles to their political projects? Who is naïve to the fact that Zanu PF is smart in eliminating those working at close range with them as compared to far ranged opponents? Are we now saying these perennial killers are now our lovely brothers and not snakes anymore? Isn’t a fact that graves at the heroes’ acre of Zimbabwe are filled with corpses of individuals who died in mysterious road accidents which were planned in Kaguvi building and CMED workshops?

What happened to Border Gezi? What happened to Moven Mahachi? What happened to Josiah Magamba Tongogara? What happened to Zororai Duri? What of the parcel letter which killed Herbert Chitepo as he was about to drive out? Can anyone shed light to us about the black dog which Sydney Malunga saw before dying in the car accident? What happened to Amai Susan Tsvangirai? A-ah vakomana ngatingwarireyi apa. Tapera! Tisazoyeuka bako tanaiwa.

These car accidents involving MDC leaders are just too convenient to be coincidental. These are facts. The truth of the matter is that the junta will again come after Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and kill him dead. This is hard to believe and too blunt a statement to make! I risk being dismissed as a prophet of doom. Isn’t it? Should one avoid the doom warning even if a catastrophic doom is pending?

This, they will do, if nothing is done. Something should have been done by yesterday. The security arrangements for our leader must be fast-tracked. We don’t need blood in the streets, roads and highways of Zimbabwe.

This junta will come after Thokozani Khupe. If nothing is done, we shall be burying her soon. Of course this is the truth! Yes I am an alarmist! But I am alarming the nation to reality. I am certain that these statements will never be interpreted to mean that I wish Khupe death. It’s an expression of genuine concern.

Our excellent young minister, Nelson Chamisa is also a candidate of death. Imagine! Yes, let no-one doubts this? Does anyone think that the junta is happy to see the youthful Chamisa being a minister on an MDC ticket? I hope no-one will read this to mean that I wish Chamisa death.

The security of MDC leaders must be outsourced. There is nothing improper about this. Zimbabwe soldiers gave Laurent Kabila security immediately after usurps power from Mobutu. Robert Mugabe went into office from the bush with his body-guards. Nelson Mandela went into office in 1994 with his MK body-guards?

Tsvangirai’s former jailers, tormentors can’t be his security providers today. Never!

On the same day that you had that evil, fatal accident, I had been invited by the SABC a few days before to be on their SABCINTERNATIONAL Programme "African Views" and the subject of discussion was "Is Forgiveness possible in Zimbabwe???" The Programme was going to be aired "live" on the same day that the attempt on your life was executed!

I was going to say on that Programme that for forgiveness to work, there must be a realization by the wrongful party that there are wrongs that they have done in the first place.

BUT ALAS!!!...... while I was waiting for the vehicle from the SABC to arrive somewhere in Johannesburg to pick me up, I received a call that our dear President, who for reasons best known by SADC, is now the Prime Minister, had just been involved in a car accident and the True First Lady had lost her life on the spot and the President was fighting for his life in a Harare hospital.

Then I said to myself….. "What now?" I immediately thought of the Gallant General Josiah Magama Tongogara, Cde Sidney Malunga, Cde Witness Rukarwa, Cde Chris Ushewokunze, Cde Border Gezi, Mr Peter Pamire, Cde Zororo Duri, Cde William Ndangana, Cde Moven Mahachi to mention but a few. As I walked into the Studios for my make-up since I was a Panellist, I wondered what line to take?

I convinced myself what line Cde Josiah Tongogara would have wanted me to take. The line Robert Mugabe's own "drowned brother" Albert Mugabe would have wanted me to take. The line the surviving victim, Cde Patrick Kombayi would have wanted me to take. The line Robert Mugabe's missing Secretary Rashiwe Guzha would have wanted me to take. The line the "poisoned" Cde Maurice Nyagumbo would have wanted me to take! The line Dr Joshua Nkomo's widow our dear Mama MaFuyane (also poisoned) would have wanted me to take! The line the similarly poisoned General Lookout Masuku would have wanted me to take!

At that time I didn't know the truck belonged to the murderous Saviours Kasukuwere. Neither did I know then that Kasukuwere had rushed to you, our dear President with a syringe in his hand….. most probably to administer the much-needed First Aid assistance which you desperately required as you lay helplessly on the rough ground! Neither did I know then that the driver that was driving that assassin truck was being driven by a "new" driver and not the "regular" one.

I also had not known then about the true reason why you had to absent yourself from that stupid Birthday bash of our most evil Oppressor which had been held a couple of days before this tragic, dark day!

With hindsight, I'm very satisfied that the line I took was correct one! Robert Mugabe is indeed the Master-Assassin! Well if he wasn't in your case, at least I'm convinced the leopards he reared are grown up and can do the job now without his trillion-dollar signature!

NOW TO MY APPEAL TO YOU, YOUR EXCELLENCY, SIR!!!

Because of something that has happened to me these past few days, I have decided to share some thoughts with you, Your Excellency!

What happened to me of late is.....my loved one now physically leaves me to answer her phone when it rings. She never used to do that in all our 8 years together. She now deletes all calls from the Call Register and deletes all sms's from her cellphone before she returns to me.

She is in normally in Zimbabwe but she had visited me this past week-end and I had last seen her in June, 2008. I admit I've made her suffer by my "stupid activism" which is making her and the children go hungry.

In December, 2008, she celebrated Christmas cleaning up the mess of broken glass etc after the petrol bomb which was thrown into the house they live….. (I say "they" because I live a thousand kilometers away in Gauteng, South Africa myself!)

So you said at a well-attended rally in Gweru that Robert Mugabe is not the evil person that we thought he was!(Oh my good Lord!!!) I think I'd better just drink poison myself!

Incidentally I'm a South African Citizen by Birth not like Mutumwa Mawere who rushed to arrange his Citizenship with the then Minister of Home Affairs to escape his legitimate prosecution for externalizing the resources of Zimbabwe!..... and to be first in line to benefit from the Black Empowerment Exercise (BEE) which is being implemented here in South Africa. (This is a subject on its own for which I'm preparing a full submission!)

The significance of my always mentioning my dual Citizenship is that I was "completely stupid and thoroughly misplaced" in continuing to involve myself in treacherous Zim politics yet arrangements are being made to "normalize" the situation back home…… (for which I have lost a lot…… including the woman I loved…) yet I cannot go there myself to join in the Appeal for that normalization!

I should have stayed in South Africa quietly and forgotten all about the slimy, slippery Zim Politics!

Your Excellency, its not only me who is crying!

Our women are being "slept" each night at the very Central Methodist Church in Johannesburg and many, not being raped, but just for R10 to get a plate of sadza and stew!

Our women are raped as they cross the river Limpopo by those notorious "Maguma-gumas."

Our women are being raped at Marabastad Home Affairs night after night as they await a turn to go into the Offices to apply for the "asylum papers."

I could go on and on and on and on and on …………………. And on and on!

If I commit suicide, at least I have left my blogs which will include this very Open Letter!

I, however, may not commit suicide because I know there is a God in Heaven who will not receive me if I did something like that ……… I wonder what to do!

I'm sure this Open Letter to you, Your Excellency, will be circulated and debated upon on my websites and numerous others and I humbly ask you to follow all the debates as you rest and recuperate in this strange land of Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki and others! It has continued to be a sad time for Zimbabwe, as Tsvangarai, the new Prime Minister has suffered the death of his wife. We pray and hope that this will not be a repeat of the unity government in 1984, which basically appeased the opposition, quieted them, and alllowed for another one party monopoly dictatorship by ZANU-PF.

JOHANNESBURG - The truck that killed Susan Tsvangirai the wife of the Zimbabwe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in a road crash is owned by Saviour Kasukuwere a former spy agent in the CIO and Youth and Gender Development Minister in the inclusive government, a South African newspaper The Sunday Sun revealed.

The revelations will boost fears that the death crash was more sinister than a simple accident - although Tsvangirai himself has said he is satisfied with the official explanation. See Report attached below.

Many believe the government is trying to cover up an embarrassing lack of proper security for Tsvangirai. who was injured in the crash.

The investigator a former Harare CID officer, told Sunday Sun that inquiries showed the truck belonged to Cum Oil, a company owned by Kasukuwere. The truck was purchased using USAID funds by a contractor.

He said his investigations were not complete - "we are not looking for scapegoats, only the truth".

But he declined to reveal who hired him to investigate the crash.

"Tyson" as he is popularly known, has worked as Robert Mugabe's body guard.

Kasukuwere was one of the first government officials to visit the Prime Minister in hospital at the Avenues Clinic in Harare.

The amazing coincidence of his truck's involvement was revealed in Harare by a private investigator probing the tragic accident that took the life of the Prime Minister's wife Susan.

Kasukuwere has worked in the Zimbabwean government's Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO)'s close Security Unit, a crack department in the spy organisation which reports directly to the President. Its role is to spy on CIO agents and government officials, including Zanu PF politicians.

The notorious Mt Darwin MP has a menacing body and menacing looks and a close confidante of the President alongside the Defence Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa and he is normally tasked to carry out ruthless missions on behalf of Robert Mugabe.

Sources say Kasukuwere gained the favour of Robert Mugabe and Emmerson Mnangagwa when he worked for (Central Mechanical Equipment Department (CMED) as a driver and spy agent monitoring the movement and servicing of government officials' vehicles.

Over the years, Kasukuwere has become obsessed with eliminating Zanu PF rivals in Mashonaland Central to secure his position as the unchallenged political baron in that province.

It is believed that Kasukuwere drove out Mashonaland Central businessman James Makamba into exile and General Solomon Mujuru who had vast farming interests in the region was sent packing back to his native Chivu.

Tyson is also linked to the death of the province's budding young Zanu PF politicians Border Gezi, Elliot Manyika and the recent arrest of former Guruwe MP David Butau on his return from exile in the UK. Butau, like James Makamba was Solomon Mujuru's business front man.

In 2005 he spied on Phillip Chiyangwa, Tendai Matambanadzo, a banker, and Itai Marchi Zanu-PF director of Security, and long-serving Zimbabwe diplomat Godfrey Dzvairo and they were convicted of breaching the Official Secrets Act and given sentences ranging between five to six years in jail on accusations that they sold information to South African Intelligence.

Kasukuwere is also linked to the attempted murder of MDC spokesman Nelson Chamisa two years ago. Chamisa was about to fly to Europe on party business and he received a menacing phone call from the Mt Darwin MP who told him he was not going anywhere, and when he got to the airport, he was beaten by thugs and left for dead with a gashing wound on the forehead.

In the disputed violent Presidential elections run-off, he directed political assasinations, abductions and torture in Mashonaland Central and engineered attacks on US embassy vehicles.

During his time as a Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) operative in Manicaland in the Nineties, he was nicknamed "Mike Tyson" because of his ruthlessness and precision in dealing with political foes.

Kasukuwere is a wealthy individual and his youthful brother Stanley had a brief stint as Chairman of Dynamos football club.

However, in another report by a Zimbabwe Sunday paper The Standard, John Snow International (JSI) "Deliver project" has opened an internal investigation on how the "killer truck" that claimed the life of the Prime Minister's wife Susan was dispatched last Friday, in a new twist to the accident.

The truck was involved in an accident with Tsvangirai's car on Friday.

The Supply Chain Management System (SCMS), is the contractor of the "USAid/Deliver Projects" aimed at strengthening HIV/Aids and family planning supply chains in developing countries run by JSI

According to the official JSI website the "Deliver project" helps developing countries "establish effective and efficient supply chains for public health and family planning programmes".

A confidential internal memorandum in the possession of The Standard, dated March 9 — three days after the accident — said the truck belonged to JSI but was not driven by a JSI driver.

"As you may have heard, there was a tragic car accident on Friday (March 6) in Zimbabwe in which the Prime Minister (Morgan Tsvangirai) was injured and his wife was killed.

"The vehicle involved in this accident was registered to USAid/Deliver (a JSI Project) although not driven by a JSI driver, as far as we know. At this point, further details about the accident are unknown.

"Understandably, this tragedy has generated a lot of media interest. If you receive any inquiries from the media, we ask that you please direct them to Penelope Riseborough, WEI/JSI Director of Communication in Boston," the memorandum said.

JSI has launched an internal investigation to unravel how the truck was dispatched under unclear circumstances, leading to the fatal accident along the Harare-Masvingo highway on March 6.

Sources said that an "administrator", identified only as N Dube and in charge of the delivery trucks, had been quizzed by management amid reports that she had been sent on suspension pending investigations.

The administrator was not at work when The Standard visited JSI head offices at Agriculture House in Marlborough on Friday.

"The administrator has been quizzed on how the truck was released laden with SCMC drugs but with an unofficial driver. If it was coming from delivery in Masvingo it should have been empty," the source told The Standard.

It was not immediately possible to get details of the whereabouts of the administrator because of the blanket ban on talking to the media.

David Alt, the JSI's country director, was locked in meetings when The Standard visited JSI headquarters. He did not respond to written questions on the alleged suspension of the administrator.

However, late on Friday afternoon JSI released a statement in which it said: "We have learned with great sadness about the death of Susan Tsvangirai in a tragic accident on Friday afternoon. We cannot at this time make any comment on the detail of the accident but we are co-operating fully with the authorities to ensure the investigation is open and transparent.

"We send our deepest condolences to the Prime Minister and his family at this terrible time and hope they find peace and comfort in the coming weeks."

Prime Minister Tsvangirai and his wife were being driven in a Toyota 4x4 Land Cruiser to their rural home in Buhera, when they were sideswiped by the Nissan UD truck driven by Chinoona Mwanda (35). The PM's Land Cruiser was forced into a spin rolling over at least three times, killing his wife Susan.

Mwanda's colleagues told The Standard he had been sent for "rehabilitation" but no one is saying where or for how long. They also said other staff at different sites had been recalled and operations put on hold.

Its website says John Snow Inc and its no profit affiliate JSI Research & Training Institute Inc, are public health research and consulting firms dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.

"JSI builds local capacity to address critical health problems, collaborating with local partners to assist countries, governments, communities, families, and individuals to develop their skills and identify solutions that meet their public health needs.

"Through management assistance, research and evaluation, education, and training, JSI works to enable agencies and health professionals to provide appropriate services in an effective and compassionate manner."

JSI, says the website, has implemented projects in 102 countries, and currently operates from seven US and 38 international offices, with 1100 host country national field-based staff.

Johannesburg-A group of gathered at the offices of the Southern African Women for Immigration Affairs (SAWIMA),in Braamfontein, central Johannesburg Wednesday , to pay their last respects to the wife of Zimbabwean Prime Minister –Morgan Tsvangirai- Susan, who died in a road accident on March 6 .

One of the church leaders at the gathering, Reverand Hove of the Assemblies of God Church called for the masses to celebrate Susan's life, describing her as a mother to the whole nation, including to Tsvangirai himself.

"She stood by Tsvangirai through years of political struggle against ZANU PF and never wavered in her support," said Reverend Hove.

Solomon Chikowero, chairman of the Movement for Democratic change Veteran Activists Association (MDC VAA), an association set up to assist political exiles in the diaspora, emphasized the need to mobilize and unite to attain the dream of a democratic Zimbabwe.
The gathering was attended by tens of political and economic exiles, refugees and Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party members.

Reverend Taurai Kondo of the Roman Catholic Church said that in Mrs Tsvangirai, the nation had lost a hero but called on the activists not to waver in their struggle for a democratic Zimbabwe.
"Fellow Zimbabweans, let us stand together and move forward as that is what Susan would have wanted, she always emphasized on peace, persistence and tolerance," he said.

Susan Nyaradzo Tsvangirai is gone, shattering highly expected hopes for an instant revival of Zimbabwe.

Susan’s death for sure left her husband, Morgan Tsvangirai, the driver of the revival machinery obviously deflated.

A USAID truck carrying condoms rammed into the couple’s 4x4 Land Cruiser, taking away the life of the mother of Zimbabwe.

We are being made to believe that the USAID truck side-swiped Tsvangirai’s car forcing it to roll down three times.

Honestly the force of an accidental side swipe wouldn’t be that huge to cause a 4x4 land Cruiser to roll three times. How on earth did the condom truck managed to hit a Land Cruiser which was in the middle of a convoy of four cars? How does one explain the precision of the actual hit? The truck went for the right door of the back seat where Susan and her husband were seated. How did the truck miss or let-go the other cars which were part of the convoy?

Police in Zimbabwe are preaching that the driver, a Mr Mwanda of the stray truck fell asleep and went into the lane which Tsvangirai was driving in. Now we are told he never slept. He was neither intoxicated nor tired as he had only driven for a few kilometers.

What another dose of claptrap? Who can believe that the driver conveniently slept and drove into Tsvangirai’s exact car before regaining consciousness and controlled his 3.5 ton truck?

How did the truck drive fell asleep in the midst of blazing sirens? We are not idiots to believe this half cooked skirmish. Let the Zimbabwe police spokesman, Wayne Bvudzijena, tell this to the birds.

Then the fairy tale continues saying the police immediately condoned off the area. It is reported that MDC officials who arrived at the scene of the accident were temporarily arrested, not allowed immediate access to the wreckage and their injured President Morgan Tsvangirai. A farmer who immediately arrived at the scene of the accident was barred from taking pictures by the police. His camera was also taken away.

Can anybody help us to understand why it became salient for the police to conceal and hide evidence from concerned individuals? What were they hiding? It is also interesting to note that police activities prominently featured after the accident, when we actually expected them to have cleared everyone off the road for the Prime Minister to pass.

The state controlled ZBC continued reporting until Sunday that Susan Tsvangirai was merely injured when her body was actually sleeping cold and stiff at the Beatrice hospital mortuary. A-ah vakomana. Ngatiregeyi kunjairira vanhu tichidai. SABC must explain to the nation why they chose to be so mischievous. Who gave ZBC instructions to misinform the world? What were the objectives of doing so? It is not hard to realize that the architects of the bloody mission were afraid of the masses’ spontaneous riotous reaction if the announcement was made forthwith. They also needed time to oil up their mass killing machinery.

Robert Mugabe and his wife, Grace spent almost an hour in Tsvangirai’s ward at the Avenues’clinic. He is reported to have cried uncontrollably. Those were crocodile tears of an 85 year old man. What was he crying for? All of a sudden, Mugabe is so touched by the tragedy in Tsvangirai’s family to an extent of shedding tears? Rubbish!
Grace Mugabe idiotically assisted Tsvangirai from his bed of agony perceptibly for the media cameras to capture “the good Samaritan giving a hand.” That was a poorly staged drama by the ‘first couple’ which only heightened suspicions.

The identity of the ‘condom truck driver’ was only released on Monday. Now the preferred charges are capable homicide. Such an offence normally attracts a suspended sentence.
But of interest is the exhaustive identity of Mr. Mwanza. Who is he? Where does he come from, uye mwana wokwani iyeye. Unomboita nezveyi? We are already told that he is suicidal and apologetic. The antics he is pulling out are consistent with professional handling of disasters by a ‘trained’ man. It appears like he actually rehearsed everything before.

The mere fact that all indications are pointing away from Zanu PF speaks volumes of a well coordinated, calculated and professional execution of a dirty assignment by the underworld operatives. The convenience is too much here. The truck belongs to an American organization, Usaid. It is however contracted to someone doing civic work in Zimbabwe. Who is this person? Anomboita nezveyi, uye ari mwana wani? Unless and until we are presented with new evidence painting a different picture we remain convinced that, Vanhu ava veZanu PF vatiurayira mai. They killed a lady who kept Morgan Tsvangirai in good shape for us.

Nyaradzo, which means comfort, left her two teenager twins, Vincert and Millicent in Johannesburg uncomforted, when she ‘departed’ on Friday.
The two who are studying in South Africa had to learn of their mother’s death through the media. Their father could not comfort them either in their hour of need because he was also not in a better situation.
One chief question on every one’s lips is who did this? Nobody doubts that Susan was assassinated by individuals who were primarily after her husband’s blood. We can all debate and raise issues of proof and try to be empirical about the availability or absence of evidence, but the truth of the matter is that Susan was killed by Zanu PF hawks. One can deny this at their own peril. The country can only start moving forward if we start believing this. This is the truth. People involved are known. These individuals are mere mortals and must be arrested immediately. They are known. Sadc leaders know the individuals I am referring to. Zanu PF moderates opposed to their activities know them. The MDC leadership is aware of this powerful but notorious Zanu PF military click. Robert Mugabe has publicly complained that he was being arm-twisted by this clique. The motive of their actions is not difficult to read. They are not in favour of the inclusive government because they are afraid that their horrendous mass killings would be exposed. They are afraid of going to jail. They are sacred of loosing their ill-acquired wealth. This is known. These are facts in the public domain. They kidnap people in the name of arrests. They have killed with impunity before, would continue slaughtering Zimbabweans and prefer to die fighting. Unless and until these rogue elements are permanently removed from the society, Zimbabwe will never taste political peace again. They have a high propensity for the blood of their political detractors. They killed innocent masses during the liberation struggle. Yes! This is true. Some of the people condemned as sell-outs or vatengesi were not necessarily guilty. These characters who are masquerading as our liberators killed more black civilians that the combative Rhodesians. They raped Chibwidos everday night after pungwes (evening mass gatherings). They slaughtered women and children in Matebeleland. They butchered people in election years 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2008 elections. Some of them have always been in combat since their youthful lives. They went to Mozambique where tales of gory activities surfaced. They were in DRC to prop up the late Laurent Kabila, where they killed and raped villagers and looted diamonds. They are daily scavenging for the slightest excuse to shed blood.
Surely should Zimbabwe continue to be held at ransom by few individuals? Honestly Zimbabwe is collectively owned by 12 millions people and not four individuals. Zimbabweans owe these bloody thugs nothing. They claim to have liberated Zimbabwe at a huge sacrifice. This is garbage. Who did not participate in the liberation struggle? The majority of Zimbabweans took part in the liberation struggle in one way or another.
There is no reason why Emmerson Mnangagwa, Constatine Chiwenga, Perence Shiri and Augustine Chihuri should not be arrested and jailed for the few remaining years of their lives. This is the way to go about it.

ZIMBABWE Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has ruled out foul play in the car crash that killed his wife, declaring the collision was an accident.

"When something happens, there is always speculation but I want to say in this case, if there was any foul play, it was one in a thousand,'' he said.

"It was an accident and unfortunately it took her life,'' he told mourners gathered at his Harare home.

Tsvangirai's wife, Susan, was killed and he was injured Friday when a foreign aid truck hit their car, sending it flipping over at least three times.

Political tensions with President Robert Mugabe, Tsvangirai's partner in a new unity government, had prompted speculation over the cause of the crash.

Mugabe, after a briefing from intelligence officials, visited Tsvangirai at Harare's Avenues Clinic hours after the crash.

The Prime Minister told a visibly shocked Mugabe: "Baba, mwana wenyu aenda. Zvangouyawo (Father, your daughter is gone. The accident just happened)."

Vice President Joice Mujuru wept at the sight of Tsvangirai sleeping on the hospital bed, his head heavily bandaged. She told the MDC leader: "Tatozvinzwa ne news (We heard it on the news)." Tsvangirai replied: "Tanga tiri kuenda kumusha zvedu, zvangouyawo (We were just going home, and it just happened)."

An official investigation is underway. The driver of the truck which sideswiped the Prime Minister's vehicle on a notoriously dangerous stretch of the Harare-Masvingo road was expected in court on Monday, charged with culpable homicide, his lawyer said.

The British and United States governments have officially said they believe the crash was a tragic accident.

PM MORGAN TSVANGIRAI SURVIVES AS WIFE SUSAN DIES IN CRASH

HARARE - Susan Tsvangirai was killed instantly and astonishingly an injured Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai escaped death and is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after their prime ministerial convoy was hit by an out of control lorry on a road just south of Harare.

Many will be deeply saddened by Susan's death and wonder whether PM Morgan Tsvangirai is now perhaps the fourth time survivor of yet another Mnangagwa-masterminded assassination attempt.

With Robert Mugabe's latest failed arrangement for the crushing of his prime political opponent. The narrow miss in eliminating his rival Morgan Tsvangirai will bring on the beginnings of revolt in Mugabe's military. Zimbabwe is ripe for a military coup by the hard line Jongwe Junta generals.

In the interim we can now regrettably add Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's wife Susan to a long list of charges for crimes against the people and the future wellbeing of Zimbabwe.

It is often said that evil thrives and flourishes when good men and women say and do nothing. President Mugabe prefers it this way. And dead bodies don't talk or make more than one maiden speech to his parliament.

This is not the first lucky escape of Morgan Tsvangirai, he has survived various attempts on his life, once in the ZCTU Offices in Harare and in other attempts at Chivhu and Mvurwi. And to those in the know one man was behind those earlier attempts. It was the "mighty" Mugabe himself.

We wonder who believes that shady story of the driver forced to "veer" off his side of the road and thereby supposedly causing such an ill-timed "fateful accident." As intended, usually only "the Tsvangirai couple as targets" would have died and the accompanying passengers live on to tell the sad tale of a newly inaugurated PM cut down even before he could change Zimbabwe for the better.

It is suspected that President Robert Mugabe is the master-assassin in all the many of the supposed "accidents" his political rivals have died in. Vehicle accidents seem to be a top method to cut down front runners and former friends of the Mugabe regime.

As the Father of the Nation of Zimbabwe, President Mugabe will often express his dubious concern at the strange and mysterious deaths of so many said ill-fated souls, and even that chilling stage-managed scene of a Mugabe and Mujuru visit to the bereaved and bruised Prime Minister in a private clinic will be purely for public consumption. Although Zimbabwe State television reported nothing about the accident in its two evening news bulletins.

For those closer to the truth the question they will dare to ask is: "Iwe zvawapedza ese masahwira anga achifanira kuzokuviga, kana wafa uchazovigwa nani?"

In another bizarre twist a close Mugabe aide Cde Oppah Chamu Zulpange Rushesha Muchinguri a former health minister is reportedly often the first to arrive at the scene of many of these suspicious accidents, ostensibly in order to arrange 'suitable treatment' for of any survivors! For some strange reason many of Mugabe's most hated political rivals have met their deaths in vehicle accidents. Perhaps because it is easy to blame these accidents on the poor state of national roads in Zimbabwe.

The "hit list" of Mugabe political detractors or personal rivals who met their untimely deaths in strange and unusual accidents is a lengthy one, the following is a brief summary of the victims of the order of the day:

4. Chris Ushewokunze
5. Sidney Malunga
6. Lookout Masuku
7. Captain Edwin Nleya

Morgan Tsvangirai, who turns 57 on Tuesday, for now lives on to fight another day, but sadly he will always sorely miss the unflinching support of Mama Susan whom Morgan has been married to for 31 years. The Tsvangirai's have six children.

After all is said and done, the prime motive for why Mugabe finds it so impossible to step down is his sins, both active and passive, and his fear of retribution for failing to do something good when he knew he should have.

No statesman in the Zimbabwe's history has a cupboard more cluttered with skeletons than Robert Mugabe! Zimbabweans find no protector in this leader.

The president for life has been accused of murdering an ever-increasing number of people. The world is charged with tolerating Robert Mugabe in his style as archetypal African dictator along with all his most brutal excesses.

Increasing allegations of Mugabe's cruel and sadistic leadership range from the vengeful deaths of Albert Mugabe, Herbert Chitepo, Josiah Tongogara, Sydney Malunga, Zororo Duri to the many hundreds of thousands more hapless victims of his genocidal mayhem and crimes against citizens within Zimbabwe.

It reminds one of the scene in the movie The Interpreter when a juvenile assassin says to his victims just before executing them: "The Teacher says Good Day to you." The truth needs no translation.

* The Interpreter is a 2005 drama/thriller film, directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Both Mugabe and the aging tyrant Zuwanie depicted in the film were teachers before being involved with politics.

Zimbabweans we know you know what our life as a nation is really worth. It's not all that glitters like gold for the Mugabes, the Mujurus and the Mnangagwas; half the true story has never been told:

PM Tsvangirai has been spirited out of Zimbabwe, probably to neighbouring Botswana, amidst fears that he may be the victim of an assassination attempt.

I am sorry to disappoint you. I hold a view to the contrary.

The MDC and its cohorts committed high treason by conspiring with Zimbabwe's saboteurs. I am very very sorry to tell you this. The MDC and its entire executive is guilty of high treason and the punishment for this is death.

I however do believe in the death sentence. It is the MDC that must be forgiven for bringing misery to our country. Just a day after Hon. PM Tsvangirayi was sworn in, he called on the West to lift travel warning to their citizens, saying it is now say for people to travel. That is bullshit -- we are not stupid like he is, sorry for the strong language but I sincerely believe the MDC needs to be told straight in the face that they are the BIGGEST problem in Zimbabwe. Zanu PF is part of the problem but to much lesser extent.

Lets go back to the fundamentals ok, something went wrong in Zimbabwe and none of us is the judge. We have a process respected by our cultural heritage of resolving conflicts in our society, why don't we look back to such a process to bring healing, harmony, and forgiveness?

We all know what happens in our culture when a societal misfit arises, lets do follow that unwritten law or there will never be peace in Zimbabwe--call for DARE -- INDABA and try the culprits whether they are MDC or ZANU (PF). Why should one party or person determine the fate of the rest of us?

We cannot afford a situation where one person deal with one hand in front and one hand at the back. Do we know what s/he is going to use that one hand at the back?

Lets have DARE --INDABA and if you are found guilty the people will decide your fate, that is the only foundation for healing and a stronger foundation for a better future society based on stronger personal responsibility. Everything we do in life must be under a microscope and bad acts must have consequences irrespective of who you are.

Forgiveness can only be considered if all the facts are known, the perpetrators, the victims having been given an opportunity to air their views.
Who wants forgiveness – for what?
Have the victimization and torture come to an end? Are we saying it was there, because this had been denied all the time.
Zimbabwe has not held free and fair elections expected at the end of this GNU – are we assuming that the past acts of torture and victimization have ended?
It is too early to consider that subject. Let everybody work towards the success of this GNU experiment. Let us have a people driven new constitution.

I ask, what does Britain and her allies want in Zimbabwe? I am sorry that I am using forceful laugange here. Why do they want to control events in Zimbabwe when they have their own England? They must keep to their England and let us keep to our Zimbabwe. Poor we may be, God has a plan to prosper us and we shall prosper without British aid. Yes, you may not hold a ZPF or MDC CARD but what boggles me is the way you support the party and the ruler who has brutalized the whole nation since 1982. Unbelievable my brother. He who has messed up the people and the country must be dealt with by the system Den has reminded all of us. The unfortunate part of Africa is that the majority follow individuals and these individuals ALWAYS screw us up. ZIMBABWE - HARARE - Those of us who always walk around with one of our eyes wide open will acknowledge that the swearing in ceremony held within the grounds of Zimbabwe's State House on 11 of February, were a big political misnomer, but all the same historic.

On that date MDC leader Mr. Morgan Richard Tsvangirai was sworn in as Zimbabwe's new prime minister, a post reintroduced for the second time since independence, but with half or less its powers then.The event was of course and without doubt historic as well as giving a ray of hope to millions of suffering Zimbabweans at home and abroad.

Just like many Zimbabweans, I am for unity and restoration of our national pride that means I support whatever steps are necessary to normalize our nationhood and bring back prosperity.This does not mean we should refrain from correctly documenting historic events, offer middle of the road opinions and attach human values to such occurrences.

The irony here is that the MDC leader was sworn in for the wrong post, but still his supporters like me and the rest of Zimbabweans found ourselves celebrating.Mr. Tsvangirai was supposed to be sworn in as State President by Zimbabwe's Chief Justice, Godfrey Chidyausiku and not Mr. Mugabe.

On March 29th, 2008, running for state president, Mr. Tsvangirai won clearly or got the majority of votes if you want it that way, but Zimbabwe's armed forces generals fearing the loss of power and privileges altered the results during a 6 week stand off with electoral officials.As the tallies were being made pointing to a Mr. Tsvangirai's victory, Zimbabweans from all works of life begun to celebrate the same way they are doing right now, but the difference is, for different state and government post, State President.

That is why some of us insist that the will of the people as reflected on 29th of March be respected we mean something different from what are now seeing starting the 11th of February.However, as we all know that there is always another day, this time we have been forced to celebrate receiving half a loaf, which is better than none at all.

All in all, Zimbabwe is for all of us and at the end of the day as brothers and sisters we have to live, work, suffer and prosper together.For years many observers in and outside Zimbabwe have been wondering whether it was not possible to borrow from Leonard Zhakata's song -"Ko zvaka ipeiko kuti keke renyika todya tese kuti tifare tese".

With this animal called inclusive government there we are fellow Zimbabweans, but it should be recorded that Mr. Tsvangirai was sworn in by the wrong person for the wrong post. All the same lets celebrate.

Just to remind the new prime minister that also top on his government agenda must be the repatriation of destitute Zimbabweans living in foreign lands.

I was touched one day, when I visited the Mozambican capital Maputo, when I met a 16 year old Zimbabwean boy living and sleeping by the sea side, having fled hunger and violence in Zimbabwe.

He was about to die from Malaria and hunger too at his then new house, which was a bush/tree near the Indian Ocean beach, before I gave him some help to go back to Zimbabwe. I hope he did go back.

He told me he has a father and mother back home, I could not believe what I saw and heard from him. The only thing I came to conclude was that Zimbabwe has a whole generation lost for good, just because Tsvangirai must be sworn in for the wrong post and not the one Zimbabweans decided to give him on 29th.

It's a pity that the self esteem and pride of being Zimbabwean shall be big challenge for us to reconstruct and preserve, but let us hope for the better.

"Zimbabwe's Crisis: Time for an African Solution or Sanctions?"

Brutal repression in Zimbabwe has now sunk to low levels of moral depravity. On March 11, opposition activists gathering for a prayer meeting to discuss the country's mounting woes were savagely assaulted and beaten. One activist was shot to death. Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition MDC, was brutally clubbed and hospitalized with a cracked skull, a swollen eyelid and puffed face. Even the passports of opposition activists, such Arthur Mutumbura, Sekai Holland and Grace Kwinjeh, were seized by police to prevent them from traveling outside the country.

The barbarous atrocities against opposition activists drew worldwide condemnation – even from Zambian President, Levy Mwanawasa, who described Zimbabwe as a "sinking Titanic," which millions were abandoning. Further, he assailed South Africa's ineffective policy of "quiet diplomacy" toward Zimbabwe, saying it has not produced results.

The crisis in Zimbabwe demands an urgent resolution. The economy has virtually collapsed. Inflation is running at 1,700 percent. There are rampant shortages of nearly all essential necessities. Unemployment rages at 70 percent and HIV/AIDS ravages the population. More distressing, the ruling ZANU-PF party of President Robert Mugabe is stone-deaf, hopelessly blind, and clueless. Impervious to reason, appeals and even international condemnation, it does not see the failures of its own policies, preferring to blame the West and colonialism for Zimbabwe's woes. Meanwhile, his daughter, Bona, is studying at the London School of Economics, according to the Guardian Unlimited (March 26, 2007).

Even more disconcerting is the impotence of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the regional organization, the African Union (AU) and the international community to effect real change and bring relief to the suffering people of Zimbabwe. Namibia gives the dodge by claiming it is an "internal matter." "Quiet diplomacy" by President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa has been a miserable fiasco. And "smart sanctions" by the U.S. and the European Union, imposed after fraudulent elections in 2001, have failed to dislodge the Mugabe regime or bring change. Now, the international and African community is divided over what to do next.

Past efforts to resolve the Zimbabwe crisis failed because they appealed to the good sense of the Mugabe regime to initiate change. But the depth of the crisis in Zimbabwe is such that the government of Robert Mugabe alone cannot solve it; nor can the MDC or any single individual or political party. Hence, it must take the collective action of all Zimbabweans. As such a mechanism must be established that permits this. Fortunately for Zimbabwe, it does not have to re-invent the wheel. Such a mechanism, known as the "Sovereign National Conference" (SNC) already exists in Africa itself and derived from Africa's own indigenous institution of village meeting.

When a crisis erupts in an African village, the chief and the elders would summon a village meeting and put the issue before the people. The village assembly or meeting is a common feature of traditional African political systems. It is called asetena kese by the Ashanti of Ghana, ama ala by the Igbo of Nigeria, guurti by the Somali, pitso by the Xhosa of South African, ndaba by the Zulu and kgotla by the Tswana of Botswana. At the village assembly the issue is debated by the people until a consensus is reached. During the debate, the chief makes no effort to manipulate the outcome or sway public opinion. Nor are there bazooka-wielding rogues, intimidating or instructing people on what to say. People express their ideas openly and freely without fear of arrest. Those who cared participate in the decision-making process. No one is locked out. Once a decision is reached, it is binding on all, including the chief.

In the early 1990s, this indigenous African institution was revived by pro-democracy forces in the form of "sovereign national conferences" to chart a new political future in Benin, Cape Verde Islands, Congo, Malawi, Mali, South Africa, and Zambia. Benin's nine-day "national conference" began on Feb 19, 1990, with 488 delegates, representing various political, religious, trade union, and other groups encompassing the broad spectrum of Beninois society. The conference, whose chairman was Father Isidore de Souza, held "sovereign power" and its decisions were binding on all, including the government. It stripped President Matthieu Kerekou of power, scheduled multiparty elections that ended 17 years of autocratic Marxist rule.

Congo's national conference had more delegates (1,500) and lasted longer three months. But when it was over in June 1991, the 12-year old government of General Denis Sassou-Nguesso had been dismantled. The constitution was rewritten and the nation's first free elections were scheduled for June 1992. Before the conference, Congo was among Africa's most avowedly Marxist-Leninist states. A Western business executive said, "The remarkable thing is that the revolution occurred without a single shot being fired . . . (and) if it can happen here, it can happen anywhere" (The New York Times, 25 June 1991, A8).

In South Africa, the vehicle used to make that difficult but peaceful transition to a multiracial democratic society was the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (CODESA). It began deliberations in July 1991, with 228 delegates drawn from about 25 political parties and various anti-apartheid groups. The de Klerk government made no effort to "control" the composition of CODESA. Political parties were not excluded; not even ultra right-wing political groups, although they chose to boycott its deliberations. CODESA strove to reach a "working consensus" on an interim constitution and set a date for the March 1994 elections. It established the composition of an interim or transitional government that would rule until the elections were held. More important, CODESA was "sovereign." Its decisions were binding on the de Klerk government. President Frederick de Klerk could not abrogate any decision made by CODESA -- just as the African chief could not disregard any decision arrived at the village meeting.

At a joint Councilors Meeting between Inkatha Freedom Party and the Democratic Alliance, Tony Leon, leader of the AD, said on March 15, 2002:

"Perhaps the most significant interaction, until now, took place during the eight months of the "Natal KwaZulu Indaba," back in 1986.

The Indaba foreshadowed the negotiations of the 1990's in important ways. It brought to the same table South Africans from every group and background; it was premised on a need to overcome the racial divides and inequalities of Apartheid without resorting to violence; it considered and adopted a set of proposals that were inspired by many of the same values and principles now enshrined in our democratic constitution . . .

And so the Indaba inaugurated the principles and articles of the Indaba Constitution, which prefigured many of the details in the Republic of South African Constitution" (IFP website: www.ifp.org.za)

Clearly, the vehicle exists -- in Africa itself -- for peaceful transition to democratic rule or resolution of political crisis. This vehicle worked in Benin, South Africa and Zambia and will work in Cameroon, Chad, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe and the other African countries where de facto political apartheid reigns. This is the vehicle all stake-holders in Zimbabwe must insist on for Zimbabweans to solve their own internal problem. It is the same vehicle all outside Zimbabwe – from SADC, the AU to the UN and the U.S. Congress – must insist on for peaceful change in Zimbabwe.

President Kufuor of Ghana, in his capacity as the new AU Chairman, should enjoin all member states to insist on the convocation of a SNC, not just ask Mugabe and opposition activists to "talk to one another." African sanctions should be imposed if the Mugabe regime fails to comply. Such sanctions may include the blockade of land-locked Zimbabwe by SADC member countries and a cut-off of electricity by South Africa.

AU Commission Chairman, Prof. Alpha Oumar Konare, the former president of Mali, is fed up with the old policy of "non-interference in the internal affairs of member states." He wants this policy replaced with "non-indifference." At the January meeting of the AU Executive Council in Addis Ababa, he warned that: "We have to assume our principle of non-indifference [defined as] courteous and united interference [in member countries]. If we cannot tell the truth, we are heading for disaster" (New African, March 2007; p.11).

Indeed, the alternate scenario is horrific. If nothing is done in Zimbabwe, there will be a complete meltdown and implosion -- as was the case in Liberia (1991), Somalia (1993), Rwanda (1994), Burundi (1993), Zaire (1996), Sierra Leone (1999), Ivory Coast (2000) and Togo (2005). And the cost of rebuilding and putting Zimbabwe back together will be enormous. Thus it is a question of act now or pay a much higher price later.

ZIMBABWE'S CABINET:WHAT A CIRCUS!!!

The inclusive government of Zimbabwe is turning into a circus. The idea is very noble, but the architects are slowly changing direction and in the process, compromising the objectives of the compromise.

Do we honestly need 52 ministers, a small country like Zimbabwe? What for? What exactly are they doing? What are the job descriptions of this bloated government ministers?

We hear that some ministers have neither work places not stuff members nor office equipment. What are they doing? Do were need to fork out money to create work-places for them where they would pretend to be working?

These ministers are just walking in the streets without offices or duties. They are just floating around in their party and government corridors with a lot of power on paper but doing nothing except taking congratulatory hand-shakes. They are also attending endless strategic meeting, but doing practically nothing to redeem the sinking Zimbabwe.

A-ah vakomana! Kungotsvaga mutauro, kuti mungozofamba muchiti vananhingi vanotaurisa.

Our number one priority is cutting down on unnecessary expenditure, but these guys come up with the largest cabinet in human history.

Some of the things which are manifesting are honestly expected at Sunday Schools if not at Kindergartens. Zanu PF pitched up with 22 ministers instead of 15. They muscled in eight and in-exchange MDC was rewarded with others for letting in Zanu PF's extras.

Even a class monitor position cannot be snatched this easily even at a rural primary school. We are told other got wind of the venue and time of the swearing in and just turned up neither invited nor appointed. Guess what happened to them? They walked away as ministers, complete with their Mercedes Benz allocations, security details and unlimited vouchers. Asi chinyi nhai?

Like kittens being pulled out of a soup bowl whilst still sucking, Zanu PF had to drag out some of its zealots from the swearing in parade, much to the surprise of South Africa president, Kgalema Motlanthe. Zanu PF chairman, John Nkomo is one of those who were asked to excuse themselves from the swearing in drama. The chucked-out lot had to take refuge in the State House to serve themselves from embarrassment.

They had brought their families and friends, only to be shown the door in front of rotating media camera lenses. Imagine!

Some ministries are a fallacy. Can anyone explain to the nation the duties of the Minister of national Integration, Priscilla Misihairahwi? Would she be harmonising different factions in MDC, Zanu PF or Zimbabweans as whole? Do we need a ministry just to remind citizens of Zimbabwe not to fight among themselves?

Workshops administered by the civic society would have done the trick than spending non-existent money paying a Minister and her Staff members for being in office, doing nothing, zero and zilch.

We all understand the spirit of compromising for the benefit of the country, but what do we gain by compromising the objectives of a compromise? Nothing, zero, zilch.

What about the deputy ministers which are flocking from everywhere? De we really need them? They are deputing what?

Where would we get the money to sponsor the extravagant ministerial life styles? For heaven's sake where will we money to purchase 104 Mercedes Benz (Compressors), whilst the whole nation is starving. Trust me never expect these politicians to forgo those luxuries. They will go ahead and buy the sexy and powerful German-made sedans, well before paying civil servants US$100 a month. They would not even shy away from demanding another Nissan Narvara 4x4 for use in their rural homes. I am neither an alarmist not a prophet of doom, but a realist.

THE MDC supported Majongwe when the teachers union was demanding US$2500 per month and demonstrating against the Zanu PF dictatorship. Now that the MDC is part of the gravy train they say Majongwe's demands are excessive. Someone has got start holding the MDC accountable for what they say and do. This exactly what led Mugabe to think he can do whatever he pleases with our country.

I admire Morgan's work but to be a Mandela to to Zimbabwe: NO he can't and he is not that capable and he knows it himself!

The Zimbabwean citizenry must take back their country. The idea that some leader is bigger than the country should never happen again. I will get into opposition if only to keep people accountable.

This whole foreign currency gimmick is being done in the name of the people but we all know that MDC leadership could not fathom the idea of Z$ for a salary after the luxury of donor funding in hard currency. If it is truly for the people then please tell that all cabinet ministers will earn in local currency and allow the people to earn in forex. It is called abusing the name of the people for the benefit of the fat cats "Nherera inoguta musi wafa mai".

I like the articles but I think their is too much eulogising of the MDC. I have nothing against the MDC but I am not going to blindly accept them as angels.....

I understand your point. Very valid. But I don't think there is a debate here. No-one ever said Morgan Tsvangirai is like Nelson Mandela. I believe one should understand and comprehend the context of the arcticle. I said Morgan is to Zimbabwe what Mandela is to South Africa. What I simply meant is that Morgan is loved, trusted and fancied by Zimbabweans in as much as Mandela is done the same by South Africans. At any given moment, Morgan would win elections in Zimbabwe thunderously just like Mandela. This is not speculation, but facts. This might change, but as I write Morgan is fancied by Zimbabweans. If a comparison is made it does not have to be identical. It does not mean that Morgan has to be joailed for 27 years in order to be compared to Mandela. Just like Morgan Mandela has flaws as well as an individual.
About Morgan, Chamisa and Coltart going on a begging spree, I beg to be different. I think Zimbabweans we have been battered too much to an extent that we have become so generous with criticism. These guys are genuinely approaching other stake holders to try and salvage a situation which was created by Zanu PF. Morgan actually begged teachers to accept the little being offered for the sake of our children. Children cannot continue to take punches for sins committed by Zanu PF. Zanu PF messed up and morgan is saying passing the buck to children is not enough. Let us try to build our country again at what ever cost and with maximum sacrifice. I am surprised that Chimhosva expect Morgan to encourage teachers to continue boycotting their duties.

Paul's attack on ministerial packages is shocking. Does Pual expect ministers to go to work on foot? These noise about ministerial Mercedes Benz is primitive. These vehicles are not as expensive as we are being made to believe. Paul knows this. He once drove a blue one, od course not from the tax payer's money. Do you guys expect our ministers to drive Datsun 120ys?
Of course the size of the cabinet is unjustified. We can't have ministers without job discriptions, offices and office equipment.

Surely, surely, what destroyed Zimbabwe yesterday was the politics of patronage. So is MDC, if not careful, history will once again repeat itself on MDC's way of governance as already witnessed.

From both the academic point of view and that of making Zimbabwe return to its rightful position as the breadbasket of southern Africa, I think Chimhosva's case holds water and is 100 percent correct.

From my close observation, MDC does not want to be criticised in any form. What MDC did whilst in the political wilderness is still happening forgeting that they are now a government. The old politics of blaming for MDC should definitely come to an end and face the reality that they are the government to be criticised, provided they do not deliver.

Worse still, MDC is now in the inclusive government and they are still behaving as a pressure group. One would ask, pressurising who? MDC is governing Zimbabwe, and they should be criticised left, right and centre just like any other office bearers working in the public office, so is Zanu (PF) and the Arthur Mutambara faction. This politics of patronage does not pay, but creates hate, division and self-destruction economically.

Zimbabwe will only have problems when political leadership looks at national issues from a political party point of view. If not careful, MDC will be repeating what Zanu (PF) did during the donkey years when in reign.

Well, I will make my full contribution late in the afternoon, but the fact remains that Zimbabwe needs nationalists with practical economic solutions and social polices that would change our country's outlook.

I have dropped these three paragraphs because of the critical points raised by Chimhosva. Chimhosva has raised very important points which I believe Zimbabweans from all walks of life would agree with if we are to move forward. Criticism is health, and this is the culture we would like to promote in our country if we are to be torchbearers of democracy in Africa.

As for MDC, by virtue of being in the inclusive ghovernment, they should be scrutinised, criticised and condemned whenever make policies that are favourable to the nation.

If MDC are not ready to be criticised, then they should move out of the inclusive government and continue criticising and demonstrating for the rule of law, democracy, free and fair election from a distance.

Let me tackle you on me driving a Mercedes Benz. I worked for this car, period. With MY money I can do what I think is fair to me. If a Minister uses his own salary to purchase a Ferrari, I do not have a problem with that. I have a problem with Ministers using tax-payers' money to reach for luxury that country cannot afford. That is my point. They must buy what the country can afford! If a Minister cannot manage his/her own finances to purchase a vehicle of his choice then he should not be trusted with public money. Why buy something with public money that you otherwise would not afford? It is wrong to be apologetic for looters.

If the idea is to make me ashamed that I have worked hard enough to afford a Jeep or a Mercedes then I think that is political bigotry.

Tambanavo Chamanyawi, do not patronise me by saying that I know that a Navara is cheap. We are talking hear of a R400000 car and 142 of them. This is just capital costs excluding the parking, driver, services and petrol which are all on the state. For a country that is begging this is not cheap at all SIR. Barack Obama has just asked for the acquisition of a new helicopter for the Air Force one fleet to be reviewed and this is from the leader of the world's biggest economy. We expect more sacrifice from leaders of a tattered economy like Zimbabwe.

The idea that our educational system should work is not debatable. That the MDC was supporting the teachers' union when they went on strike demanding an unreasonable US$2500 per month and then opposed the demands as soon as they were in government should be warning enough that just as Zanu PF, the MDC is a party of politicians and by nature should not be blindly trusted. I refuse to be blackmailed into blindly eulogising the MDC. Morgan, Coltart and Nelson were out begging whilst Roy Bennett was on 702 radio discouraging the very same donors! Mr Chamanyawi then wants to crucify me for pointing out that the MDC is at time like a ship without a captain.

That Biti is talking combining Monetary Policy and Fiscal Policy and I get to point out that this sheer madness cannot be used an effort to rubbish the MDC. It is genuine constructive criticism and only those drunk on the illusion of self-grandeur will not take notice. Every developed country has an independent central bank driving monetary policy and fiscal policy drive public income and expenditure policy. There is nothing anti-MDC about this, I am just stating the obvious.

I have been in the trenches with a fair number of the MDC leadership therefore I do not feel limited in my capacity speak my mind for fear of being labeled counter-revolutionary.

The Zimbabwean citizenry must never allow a culture of entitlement again. One Zanu PF was enough and de-Zanufication is firmly on the agenda.

At the moment, though unwritten, MDC is Tsvangirai. This is the pattern with most other political parties in Africa. Now as I write to you ANC is Zuma and Zuma is ANC. He is currently irreplaceable. With all his blunders, Zuma is still the confirmed ANC's presidential candidate.

Lets all give peace a chance and refrain from making cheap pop shots. This is only a transitional arrangement and obviously it is bound to be costly and faulty in in many ways, but in the main, what we want as a nation is a new Constitutional order

A post-independence constitution we would all cherish and own up with pride and togetherness, separated only by our ideological beliefs albeit without being questioned, tortured or killed for it.

As much as Zanu PF and MDC unleash venom amongst each other in the GNU, us, as ordinary folks must not lose sight of the objective - New constitution.

Lets pray to God for the GNU to hold until we get through this phase; that's the only way the Executive can only have its power checked or curtailed (in its internal power contestation) in the run up to the new constitutional reform.

Zanu PF can no longer lead a constitutional reform because of its dodgy ways and Zanu PF will never allow MDC or NCA to influence things from outside, because of its paranoid caused mainly by its own propaganda.

The trivial of Tsvangirai-Mandela comparison and issues of expensive motors, their types, prices and models can only leave us in no man's land without getting to grips as to our responsibilities, as students, professionals, activists, farmer and ordinary folks.

As for those who dislike Tsvangirai for whatever reasons stretching from their hubris, to believing in the Zanu PF propaganda or whatever mistakes he has made, limited education etc, we've got to accept reality and admit the crucial role he and Mutambara are now playing to achieve the ultimate goal of obtaining a new constitutional order by diluting Robert Mugabe's power. Some of you might argue kuti RGM still has the usualy power and strength - but that is not the case, hence the hostilities going on right now.

A lethal verdict was slapped on school going age kids in Zimbabwe by Zanu PF. The ruling party which for years basked in the glory of providing quality education to every Zimbabwean has of late poisoned their impressive record.

What really went erroneous? Zanu PF's immoral guidelines saw the country's economy take a tail-spin, ditching every worker into abject poverty. Teachers were not spared. In reaction the educators stopped functioning, leaving kids to take the knock. This is very sad. This is against the 1980-1990s background where Zanu PF literally forced everyone to school, colleges and universities. My generation actually received modest pay-outs for being at a tertiary institution. The government also provided free accommodation, meals, and bed linen.

It was illegitimate in Zimbabwe to send a learner home for failing to pay school fees. At primary school no one ever talked about fees, except for a $10 building fund.

The Zanu PF government by then celebrated and promoted education at all costs. Now, all of a sudden they moved swiftly to switch-off that light which was the source of brightness to Zimbabwe. The question now is, Ko vakarasika papi?

Where did they go wrong?

Raising questions and piling demands alone is not enough. The issue which should pre-occupy everyone should be; Where to from here? This blame game is useless.

We can rant and rave about the ills which were visited upon us by Zanu PF, but that would not extricate us from the predicament we found ourselves in.

The noble call for teachers to resume work by Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, as the inclusive government try to put the country back on track cannot be ignored by anybody with brains in his skull. This is not the time for cheap point scoring. This is not the time for being negative. Zimbabwe needs no antagonists at the moment, but nation builders.

Let's rally behind the inclusive government and put back Zimbabwe on track. Let's sacrifice NOW for Zimbabwe. Grumbling and sabotaging will take us to a worse situation that what we are now. Raymond Majongwe seems to have missed it this time. Koworasika papi. (Where are you getting it wrong?) This Thomas Mapfumo impersonator must appreciate that we are in the same boat in the midst of an ocean and we will all go down if we fight. Bhora pasi Majongwe, pfavira ngoma usiku hurefu

He is behaving like a stray soldier, by continuing to be combative in the trenches even after an inclusive government is in place.

Tsvangirai came out supportive of the civil servants' cause and went a step further by offering them US$100 for now. This is equivalent to R1000. This offer is 1000 percent more than what the Mugabe government was giving civil servants.

Instead of expressing appreciation, Majongwe opted to be 'an instant hero' by being the first one to take spot-shots at Tsvangirai. Does Majongwe expect Tsvangirai to find "diesel in Chinhoyi" over night?

He even exhibited his poor monetary sense by demanding a monthly salary of US$2300 for teachers. Even South African teachers working for a government with a sound economy are not getting even half of that amount.

SA teachers get between R6 000 to R11 000 and college and university lecturers get between R12 000 and R18 000, way below what the belligerent Majongwe is craving for.

Medical doctors in South Africa hospitals are not even earning that. I am sure Majongwe is now failing to appreciate the value of money due to his easy access to enormous donor funding.

Zimbabwe brood cannot continue to take punches for crimes committed by Zanu PF. We expect Majongwe to understand this. Instead of working towards lessening the already dreadful situation in schools, Majongwe want to maintain his relevance/significance by eternally punishing kids in the name of fighting for better salaries for teachers. Majongwe is out of order. He needs to be over-ruled. We can't afford another day of schools closure. We can't afford to breed half baked graduates in these modem times, simply because VaMajongwe varamba kuti zvikoro zvivugwe.

I am alive to the fact that we are in a democracy, but Majongwe's destructive democracy would not benefit anybody.

Majongwe can't be allowed to continue holding our kids as sacrificial lambs. We can't as a nation forfeit the future of our offsprings to the altar for his expediency.

There is no reason which justifies starving kids of education. Not even one. Never.

Teaching is a calling, specifically to offer service and never a money making venture. One does not burn the whole house to get rid of a rat. Even if it is a snake.

Tongai Moyo aka Dhewa even echoed the same sentiment. He questioned if it was logical to sell the stadium simply because the soccer ball became deflated.

Roy Leslie Bennett…! Who is Roy Bennett? What makes him tick?

He is currently a frequent visitor to most families across the globe as he gets featured prominently in most news bulletins following his spectacular arrest in Harare last Thursday

Bennett comes across as a black man trapped in a white man's body. He speaks fluent shona and has black African gesticulations.

Born 1957 to Charles Patrick Galway and Catherina Maria Bennett, Roy's childhood is typically of an African Zimbabwe child, roaming the countryside in Karoi with friends hunting and fishing in rivers and dams.

His dramatic conducts in life have always produced international headlines, in most cases for wrong reasons. Yes! This must be said.

He drops sharp shooting scenes faster than the rate at which a warplane drops missiles.

Of late his name has been filling acres and acres of newspapers pages world wide. Roy's face is almost a screen saver in most Television channels.

The Zanu PF Zealots pounced at a time when he was expecting to be sworn in as Zimbabwe's deputy minister of Agriculture. He is reportedly holed at Mutare police station where he is facing terrorism charges. I hope this does not sound like Pachedu's political obituary, because then man is not yet politically or physically dead.

What makes him a darling of the media?

The honest answer is that Roy is generous with action which attracts extreme hostility. To put it frankly the man is slapdash.

He does not even know how to trend on a tight rope. Soon after being briefed about his duties as deputy minister of Agriculture, Pachedu came out of the meeting to tell journalists that Zanu PF's chaotic land grabs would be reviewed by his ministry. This is despite the fact that his ministry has nothing to do with that since there is a separate ministry to deal with land distribution and resettlement.

The former coffee farmer is an extremist of the first grade. With Bennett one is either his pal or an adversary. In his world there is nothing like being moderate. If one is his pal, you will get the best of Roy, but upon failure to dance to his tune, one is guaranteed to get the worst of him. The man knows how to kick ruckus, which in most cases takes toll on him. You can easily become Roy's friend in as much as you can be his enemy very fast. Quick, quick!

The former colonial police officer whose popularity was only limited to Chimanimani until 2000 after snatching the Chimanimani parliamentary seat, is a no new comer to hullabaloo.

After serving as a Zanu PF councilor for years, he attempted to contest Zanu PF parliamentary primary elections in 2000 but was barred by his political superiors by then, 'for having the wrong skin colour.'

He immediately jumped ship and successfully contested the 2000 elections on an MDC ticket, inflicting a heavy embarrassing smack on the face of Zanu PF. This was during the sensitive period when Zanu PF was demonizing whites in the 2000 election campaigns. Bennett's victory drew Zanu PF's wrath and was never forgiven until today.

As Zanu PF was still licking wounds after the Chimanimani bruising defeat, Bennett was on them again. He tossed Zanu PF's marks-man, Patrick Chinamasa to the ground in Parliament leaving a vinegary taste in the mouths of Zanu PF Pharisees. His colleagues had to hold him back as the MDC funnyman klutzily continued charging at Chinamasa like a disturbed Hippopotamus.

He then grabbed the collar of Chinamasa's shirt and wrestled him to the floor. This was Bennett unlimited! He then tried unsuccessfully to punch Zanu PF's Didymus Mutasa who responded by kicking him. Other MPs then took out guns and threatened to start shooting if they did not stop fighting. The Sergeant at Arms escorted Bennett out of the chamber.

This brought him a one year jail term which was controversially slapped on him by Zanu PF's kangaroo parliamentary court. Imagine, the man spent time in jail without facing any magistrate or judge. It's rare, if not vague isn't?

All Zanu PF had to do was to dust off a colonial piece of legislature from the shelves and used it to chastise Roy, much to the amazement of everyone.

He lost his parliamentary seat while serving a prison sentence.

Bennett completed his sentence on June 28 and after his released from Chikurubi Prison where he spent eight months of his twelve-month sentence in custody, he denounced prison conditions generally in a press," The inhumanity with which the prisoners are treated and their total lack of recourse to any representation or justice combined with the filth and stench of daily life is something I will never forget and I will not rest until their conditions are improved."

During a separate press conference after completing his sentence, Bennett, took aim at his party boss, Morgan Tsvangirai but missed. He openly criticized him for allegedly surrounding himself with moderate advisors. He fell short of questioning Tsvangirai's judgments. Imagine that the man could not even realize that Tsvangirai is to Zimbabwe what Nelson Mandela is to South Africa. It is fact that Tsvangirai is trusted and loved so much by Zimbabweans.

In no time he was in trouble with Zanu PF again. They accused him of planning to topple Robert Mugabe's government through a military uprising. He fled to South Africa, only to return back three years later. Instead of being ushered into a spacious ministerial office and mansion, Pachedu was shoved into detention cells at Mutare police station. At a time when Roy expected to be nurtured by security details and aides, he was instead handcuffed and thrown at the back of a Santana.

Roy's life is full of irony. His stay in Johannesburg was not a bed of roses. He clashed with everyone, left, right, centre, backwards and forwards He is not even in talking terms with anybody in MDC's external structures in South Afruca. "Moita politics dzechi-boy" loosely translated as you are practicing primitive politics," the motor mouthed Bennett would tell his colleagues based in SA.

As the Treasurer of the party, he did very little if not nothing to help his desperate comrades who had fled persecution in Zimbabwe. He snubbed MDC loyalists, much to the annoyance of other comrades toiling in South Africa. Tsvangirai's bodyguard-in-chief, Musekiwa Mhukahuru, died a lonely and painful death in a filthy one room in Tembisa town-ship (South Africa) after Roy closed his purse on him.

A celebrated MDC martyr Tandare's widow was also sent back empty handed by Roy when she approached him for financial assistance.

Bennett recently took another aim at his tolerate boss, Tsvangirai for agreeing to go in an inclusive government, but was cut down to size by the party's national council which okayed Morgan's vision.

Now the man who is loved and hated most by his colleagues is behind bars. Most MDC supporters staying in South Africa have threatened to boycott a demonstration being organized in Pretoria to put pressure on SADC to demand his release. Only a handful of his blue-eyed boys who he showered with cash during his stay in South Africa are expected to hit the street.

We are calling upon people of all nations to join together to support a message to the United Nations Secretary General. This is to take action to resolve the desperate situation in Zimbabwe.

Time is of the essence, people are being beaten, tortured and there are also millions of people who are deprived of food and many destitute.

Sometimes a small action, that is of little effort to us individually, has the potential for a great consequence to others, especially when we all join together.

No matter how bad the Zanu-PF intimidation is, all Zimbabweans should go to the vote at the run off election to place their support behind MT. This is the first real chance to oust their evil President, who I would wish to see tried at the International Court of Human rights in the Hague.

He lives in obscene splendour,is in total denial that the country's economy, once so prolific that it was known as the 'bread basket' of Africa, has gone into free fall and brought misery and death to thousands if not millions.

The man is a despot.

I would urge MT if the constitution allows to embrace the other opposition parties and generate a resounding victory for the MDC, and his Presidency. He should enlist the support of all other African Union countries to guarantee no more violence and a fully supervised election. Don't let this unique opportunity pass you by without inflicting your vote for or on MT as a final messaage and hopefully punishment of Mugabe.

Dear Mr Tsvangirai

I have been following the situation in Zimbabwe these past few weeks with great interest, but also with alarming despondency at the way Mugabe's cronies and hangers-on are refusing to listen to the majority of their countrymen and release their hold on power. Through such websites as Sokwanele and others it is apparent that the struggle by MDC supporters is very real, but fraught with many difficulties and sacrifices. I am sure that the surrounding nations, as well as the Western World is also very concerned that fairness and justice under the law will be done and achieved. Let us hope that, with some help and guidence from others, you will soon be in the position to steer your country back from the brink of this torment. When this is achieved you will probably have to start to build a new constitution in which the New Zimbabwe will never again be allowed to wither under any future form of despotic rule again. Good luck with this momentous endeaver!

Open letter to new President of Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai

Dear His Excellency President Morgan Tsvangirai

Greetings to you in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

I always praise God for the role you have taken in opposing the atrocities and gross human rights abuses of the communist rule of President Robert Mugabe's ZANU PF government.

Your refusal to compromise, capitulate or to be bribed into silence by Mugabe's wicked regime is greatly appreciated and highly valued internationally. Since 1980 Zimbabwe lacked black leaders of your caliber.

It's good that God has been faithful to protect your life from several murder attempts of Mugabe and his vicious cronies in ZANU PF government. I also have to say that:

(1). Millions of Zimbabweans had their homes destroyed because they supported your government.

(2). Millions of Zimbabweans are being starved to death because they voted for you since March 2002 presidential elections that you won.

(3). Commercial farmers had all their land or farms invaded, looted and seized by Mugabe's henchman because they supported you.

(4). More than 3 million Zimbabweans have been exiled because they had hope in the MDC government and supported it.

(5). Tens of thousands of MDC supporters have been tortured and many suffered violent deaths.

Currently amidst of mass starvation food importation has been banned (or is charged exorbitant duties) in Zimbabwe by Mugabe's ZANU PF government in order to starve your supporters.

If the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) had not come into being in 1999, millions of Zimbabweans would not have been made to endure starvation and suffering on such a massive scale.

I in no way regret the formation of your government. Zimbabwe desperately needed honest leaders like you to challenge decades of ZANU misrule.

ZANU regime is refusing to announce poll results because they have lost. Your government has won 29 March 2008. Therefore has legitimacy to rule Zimbabwe.

God's authority is within your hands to disband or punish ZANU PF criminals who do not want to leave state offices.

Righteous revolution or war of liberation against tyrant is moral justifiable. Historical Reformed or Biblical Christianity require that any resistance against tyrant be done under legitimate leadership such as yours.

Biblical tyrants were slaughtered by leaders sent from God. Historical tyrants were removed in righteous revolutions and punished for their crimes.

Zimbabweans are looking to you for leadership against the wicked in ZANU PF regime. There is no cost too high for attaining freedom for our country. Death or suffering is nothing for the sake of freedom and prosperity for our children. Mugabe's ZANU PF must go at all cost.

May your government act swiftly while the enemy is paralyzed and confused by electoral defeat.

Majority of black political organization in Africa are not on our side. But we have nothing to fear since God is on our side. All our victories in Zimbabwe are for Him, therefore our revolution will triumph irrespective of the cost.

Foundation of Reason & Justice shall exist to further the cause of God's justice, and for the defense of the poor and oppressed Zimbabweans.
