MY REQUEST:

What are your views?

Should Mugabe and ZANU-PF be forgiven? Do they know they need to be forgiven? Do they feel they have wronged anybody?

Who should do the forgiving?

Those who were wronged.....do they have the right to withhold their forgiveness? Etc. Etc.

Does ZANU-PF feel the MDC and others wronged them? If so, where, when and how?

Etc Etc.

Hi Sir,

I am sorry to disappoint you. I hold a view to the contrary.

The MDC and its cohorts committed high treason by conspiring with Zimbabwe's saboteurs. I am very very sorry to tell you this. The MDC and its entire executive is guilty of high treason and the punishment for this is death.

I however do believe in the death sentence. It is the MDC that must be forgiven for bringing misery to our country. Just a day after Hon. PM Tsvangirayi was sworn in, he called on the West to lift travel warning to their citizens, saying it is now say for people to travel. That is bullshit -- we are not stupid like he is, sorry for the strong language but I sincerely believe the MDC needs to be told straight in the face that they are the BIGGEST problem in Zimbabwe. Zanu PF is part of the problem but to much lesser extent.

So, do not be blind to think MDC is Zimbabwe's Messiah, actually, they are Zimbabwe's anti-Messiah.

Golden,

I can understand your fury and cynicism, bruv - the coming of MDC into the GNU has left your brother, former Minister of Energy Major General Mike Nyambuya; the man who ran down NOCZIM and ZESA without a job. That post is now held by Minister Mudzuri of the MDC.

So, it's natural for you to wield such venom and trash at the MDC because your brother has been reduced to a village bully with no standing in the national politics. First, MDC bit him in the Parliamentary elections and they have left him with no job - incredible fall that. Whatever, diversionary tactics you and you handlers might try - MDC is in it for the long haul, and slowly penetrating into the establishment. This is reality bruv.

Good day, man.

Sorry to blast this one but could not help it,

Lets go back to the fundamentals ok, something went wrong in Zimbabwe and none of us is the judge. We have a process respected by our cultural heritage of resolving conflicts in our society, why don't we look back to such a process to bring healing, harmony, and forgiveness?

We all know what happens in our culture when a societal misfit arises, lets do follow that unwritten law or there will never be peace in Zimbabwe--call for DARE -- INDABA and try the culprits whether they are MDC or ZANU (PF). Why should one party or person determine the fate of the rest of us?

We cannot afford a situation where one person deal with one hand in front and one hand at the back. Do we know what s/he is going to use that one hand at the back?

Lets have DARE --INDABA and if you are found guilty the people will decide your fate, that is the only foundation for healing and a stronger foundation for a better future society based on stronger personal responsibility. Everything we do in life must be under a microscope and bad acts must have consequences irrespective of who you are.

Mr. Denford

You are damn right, you are actually saying Africa must solve its problem. Good heavens you know so much. Not this thing of PM MT thinking we have to leap-frog Zimbabweans to Bush, Blair etc for a trial. That I am against. We have what it take to solve our own problems without the need of Almighty America and Great "Little" Britian.

Ta!

Forgiveness can only be considered if all the facts are known, the perpetrators, the victims having been given an opportunity to air their views.
Who wants forgiveness – for what?
Have the victimization and torture come to an end? Are we saying it was there, because this had been denied all the time.
Zimbabwe has not held free and fair elections expected at the end of this GNU – are we assuming that the past acts of torture and victimization have ended?
It is too early to consider that subject. Let everybody work towards the success of this GNU experiment. Let us have a people driven new constitution.
Lets have a commission to investigate the atrocities committed and a final report should then consider what steps to be taken.

I second your motion Cde Shepherd.
No one owes anyone an apology here. Things happen because of our collective mistakes. It was wrong for MT to seek regime change as much as it is wrong for Zanu PF to hold on to power -- though I feel Zanu PF has just ground to refuse to hand over power to a person who will sell our country. Morgan to me is a man that would have handed Zimbabwe back to our erstwhile colonizers. *UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL ZIMBAWE GO BACK TO THE HANDS OF THE WHITES.*

Reverend you are talking about the wrongs that are not clearly
defined, or the assumption is we all know them. From your email
some may sound petty, for example the need for MDC to apologise to
Zanu Pf. Really what for?
What we need to do is define the problem and then find out
possible ways to address issues problematized.
What you have as major issues are:
1. Gukurahundi
2. Operation Murambatsvina
3. Political Disappearances and violence in the run up to major
elections
4. Unconstitutional/Chaotic land grabs and redistribution.
What you need is a Truth, Peace and Reconciliation Commission to
take the issues legally and we address these issues once and for
all. At this day in age, people are not proud to be labelled by
their tribal extract mainly because of historical happenings. Any
one who identifies self in a tribal manner is seen as "tribalist"
"separatist" etc. We watch in awe as Zulus, Xhosas etc parade
their ethnicity with pride...
Therefore apologies or no apologies the problems will need to be
redressed because they are historically true

From Golden Gadzirayi Nyambuya

I ask, what does Britain and her allies want in Zimbabwe? I am sorry that I am using forceful laugange here. Why do they want to control events in Zimbabwe when they have their own England? They must keep to their England and let us keep to our Zimbabwe. Poor we may be, God has a plan to prosper us and we shall prosper without British aid. We are not a charity case, we are a proud people with a history of standing up for ourselves and doing what has to be done. It is nothing but a slave mentality to think that we need aid to prosper or we need America or Britain to find ourself.

This is the 21th century, the century for the African. We shall rise and rise to the furthest reaches of the distant heavens and they will stand in awe.

God is a God for us all.

This is rubbish.

Does that justify all the killings done by ZANU-PF etc?

What of the farms bought by ZANU-PF in the 80s and given to a few Ministers etc?

Please give us a break!

Please note that I asked for views that I could include in my presentation at the SABC Programme tomorrow, Friday.

May I also ask if there are any in and Johannesburg who can be part of the audience. You will receive SABC transport to and from the SABC Studios to your door-step wherever it is even up to Pretoria.

Please note that I communicate with you with the belief that we need to communicate. It is a priviledge which is rather scarce In Zim.... our beloved mother-land.

I'm therefore not worried about misguided characters who do not appreciate the value of these Forums and Debates.

For the record, I, personally, believe it is very premature to even talk about forgiveness!

Is someone grabs my cellphone and runs.... and is held by other members of the public...... the primary issue is to get my cellphone back!

Only after that can I decide whether to "press charges" or to "forgive" that person.

So even Biblically, restitution is a very important part of a process of reconciliation.

ZANU-PF took a very desperate move in the "land grab" exercise to escape other very serious issues.

I invite you to read my article on "WHY THE SADC/MBEKI INITIATIVE CANNOT AND WILL NOT SOLVE ZIMBABWE'S PROBLEMS!" http://zimfinalpush8.blogspot.com/2007/12/why-sadcmbeki-initiative-cannot-and.html
In the same breath.... may I vow here and now that this illegitimate, unworkable and undemocratic so-called GNU will never work! In fact, it will not last a few months!

Why GNU? Will SA also have a GNU after its Elections later this year?

Then Botswana? Then Mozambique? Etc Etc ?

When will Mugabe and ZANU-PF account for their various crimes?

Refer: "IS MUGABE THE MASTER-ASSASSIN?" http://dearmrrobertmugabe.blogspot.com/2006/11/is-robert-mugabe-master-assassin.html
Then "APPEAL TO ALL JOURNALISTS AND WRITERS!" http://radicalzim.blogspot.com/2007/08/appeal-to-all-journalists-and-writers.html
Then I ask you to read very soberly the letter written by the late, great father of Zimbabwean Nationalist Politics, Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo. http://gukurahundi.blogspot.com/2007/04/full-letter-from-dr-j-m-n-nkomo-to.html

I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON..............

So there are my views!

Don't misunderstand me!

This Mbeki GNU has no chance at all!

Proper free and fair Elections followed by warrants of arrest where necessary is the only way forward!

I rest my case!

Rev Mufaro Stig Hove.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WHOLE DEBATE SO FAR INCLUDING MY SUBMISSION ABOVE AND ANY SUBSEQUENT VALUED CONTRIBUTIONS FROM YOURSELVES WILL BE POSTED AT

"FORGIVENESS IN ZIMBABWE: THE ISSUES"

It is because people like you that we are this situation, Britain and her allies have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the murders, rape and abuse that your brothers in ZANU PF commited on our beloved mother Zimbabwe, people like you should not be allowed outside the boarders of Zimbabwe, stay there and starve like the rest of the country, u make me sick. Not only have you grounded the country to its knees you are screwing up our lives with your abuse and daft propaganda.

From Nicholas Nickson Mada: nmada@msn.com

Nyambuya, Den is not supporting MT or Robert Mugabe here. Yes, you may not hold a ZPF or MDC CARD but what boggles me is the way you support the party and the ruler who has brutalized the whole nation since 1982. Unbelievable my brother. He who has messed up the people and the country must be dealt with by the system Den has reminded all of us. The unfortunate part of Africa is that the majority follow individuals and these individuals ALWAYS screw us up. That is African politics because the majority fail to built a working system for themselves unless the leaders put it in place.

So pathetic of our Zimbabwe to be under one party and ruler for three decades. Something is wrong right there.
